Was interested to see an accurate view of how people feel about the makeover so I created a poll. Also I would like everyone to list which areas of the design you like and the ones you dislike. If you dislike something how what would you change the design?

Re: Where do you stand with the new DCA makeover?
Meh. I don't really care one way or the other. I think it's kinda cool DCA's getting some new blood, but I didn't really mind it the way it was, either.Looking for the truth about giraffes? http://www.menacinggiraffes.blogspot.com/

Re: Where do you stand with the new DCA makeover?
I am glad they are trying to do something with it, rather than just let it wilt...What all these changes and pontificating on those changes will bring, who knows? The place might still be dissapointing, but i know i will be there to form my own opinion. As much as we bag on DCA, i think everybody likes one part of it or another.....
Mostly, i'm glad their putting in the Little Mermaid attraction...my g/f is super, super stoked on that, and whatever keeps her wanting to go with me every month is ok with..

Re: Where do you stand with the new DCA makeover?
Well I'm not happy with every change. But I wouldn't characterize the things I'm not happy with as faults except the beer garden. I don't know of anything that shatters the illusion more for me than to see Booze stands. I'm not against Booze. But I don't think we need it in a theme park. Plenty of places in DTD to go get Booze or in the restaurants.
Sad to see the murals and the Golden Gate bridge go. But at the same time I realize that to do the sun plaza and the back lot like they want to, those things have to go.
All in all,
A well themed E ticket, plus two C tickets in a well themed area.
Another well themed E ticket.
The world of Color Show
A nice D ticket.
A parade to replace BPB.
Some theming for a D ticket that lacks it at the moment.
Those are all a plus imo.

Re: Where do you stand with the new DCA makeover?
I'm excited, but cautiously so. And I do think devoting such a huge area just to one movie that hasn't had time to firmly ingrain itself as a classic is probably a somewhat unwise idea. But if it's beautiful, fun, and immersive enough...well, I'm up for it.

Re: Where do you stand with the new DCA makeover?
I really wish they would have stepped up more cool California history and not turned so heavily to a Disney/Pixar theme. The Little Mermaid ride might be nice but as others have said, they missed their chance to be really creative and innovative.

Most of it sounds pretty good. However, I am not sure I would agree with their themes. There is already Buzz in DL so it seems like they could have chosen another theme instead of Toy Story again. Same with the Carsland idea. Not sure if they should base several rides on Cars.
I guess I would have liked to seen more rides based on classics movies especially if they are trying to recreate an older era. Guess they are trying to cater to the newer generation. Oh well, as long as DL keeps it's charm, I'm happy!Me,DH

Re: Where do you stand with the new DCA makeover?
I like World of Color, if they have the backup...supporting shops and dining that goes along with it. Hopefully they'll extend Park hours and make DCA a real nighttime destination.
Carsland seems troublesome, though. All the money that's going into that, should be put toward a wholly new Park.
Either they are going to fix existing problems, or they are going build a brand new park. It's either one or the other. With Carsland, it seems like they are trying to do too much.....and having to wait 10 years....I'd rather wait the 10 years for a completely new Park/Third Gate......not wait 10 years for ....Carsland !
The amount of time and money doesn't seem to justify what's being planned, in terms of this Carsland thing.
Tossing in a completely new themed area.....into a Park that hasn't been performing well.......I don't think that's the best use of money.
Again, I love the idea of World of Color.....with some good restaurants and shops, nearby, so that people will want to linger !2007 Photos:

I dont hate the cars land idea I mean CA does have a nice history/love affair with cars, but it was way too convenient to design a land that can provide a home to a pixar ride.I would favor an expansion to condor flats. Condor flats could be relocated and provide new and ORIGINAL rides that are about aviation. and I enjoy the history of flight over the history of pollution.
and on a side note I personal loath the "mickeys fun wheel" Idea. tacking down a CA icon and replacing it with a corporate symbol wont change any thing and wafter all it would be the same ride.

Re: Where do you stand with the new DCA makeover?
For me I've always thought that DCA should have been an extension of DL park rather than separate. In otherwords build a subway under the plaza and then you can drift from one park to the other. Maybe the biggest problem was putting California in California. Why re-create the Golden Gate bridge when you can go see the real thing? Now we are stuck with the park let's see where these tweeks take us. I'm all for the evening water show. Maybe Fantasmic won't be so crowded every night. The Whoopi film really needs to be buried for all time (even though I love her as an actress) - such cheap effects -and something more along the lines of EPCOT's American Adventure put in. But let's give them a chance. Two things that are brilliant at DCA are the Aladdin show and ToT.Now I'll turn that little mouse's dream into a nightmare Fantasmic !

Re: Where do you stand with the new DCA makeover?
well my dad agrees that disneyland and CA should be one big park. but i cant help but think how it would mess up Disneyland's original vision. also, DCA was meant to stand on its own just like the parks at WDW and perhaps part of the problem is that DCA is too close to DL.
