What's up with the trash cans?

I noticed on Saturday that the trash cans around the resort are all mixed up. In Disneyland, this doesn't seem to be the case, but around the resort is it a little mixed up. The green trash cans with the new Disneyland Resort logo on them in the Mickey and Friends tram loading area were gone and replaced by the Downtown Disney trash cans. Then in the plaza and tram loading area in Downtown Disney, there were the usual cream and orange trash cans some with the old Disney font logo and others with nothing on them. The same went for the trash cans right out front of DCA. Then Sunshine Plaza was a mix of those cream and orange old Disneyland Resort logo trash cans, blue Hollywood Pictures Backlot trashcans with Candy Corn acres stickers on them, and Paradise Pier Jimmeny Cricket recycling cans.

What I never got is why they only replaced some of the Disneyland Resort logo trash cans and not all of them. And DCA always seem to have trash cans mixed up here and there (not to mention the cheap stickers they put on them). I hope they fix this issue in the future with new, better looking trash cans for the park as well as finally change out the old Disney fonted, bear and castle resort logo.

Makes some wonder what's going on...

Me, I just prefer to use something for what it is designed for. The fancy paint or stickers on them don't impress me much. If they were all just painted green or whatever, that would be fine with me. I just want to be able to put my trash in them.

Kind of like a recent thread about the poor condition of the paint on the handrails on Soarin. I was there during the same time as the OP, yet I didn't notice the handrails needing a fresh coat of paint.

I did enjoy the ride though...

If you think that is odd, I have something much worse regarding the theme placement of these trash cans. I saw a tomorrowland can over by the Angels stadium. I am not sure if they brought it over for the the 1/2 marathon back over labor day weekend or what, but it was still there last weekend when I was on a jog.

I walked over to it, wondering if maybe there was anything mysterious about it, but the only thing that seemed out of the ordinary was that there was a transient-type guy sleeping in there. Really, it reminded me of that mailbox in toontown that talks when you open it. Only difference was, this trash can used obscene language as oppose to delightful jokes.

Sure, this is a tad OCD, but I don't think it's a NON-issue. One of the cool things about the park is that they pay attention to these small details. When they aren't right, some people notice. It's not like if this isn't fixed people will starve or the economies of seven minor countries will crumble, but it's a detail that needs to be tended to.

I blame it on the general decline of our great society the fact that parents don't take responsibility for teaching their kids right from wrong anymore.

That's how I feel also. The world isn't coming to an end, but if they are going to go to the trouble to make them themed, then they should go to the trouble of putting them in their correct places.
