  • re-forming DCA's name and marketing-ideas?

I know it's still not said if DCA's name will be changed or not but... does anyone have any ideas for a new the "Disney's California Adventure" name? my ideas are "Walt Disney's California", "Disneys California"(if putting "Walt" in front of the title was to much), and mabye some play on the word "golden" what about your ideas...and what about how the're going to market the new DCA? Notice how the 2001 ads for DCA were very "in your face". Im guessing that with the new DCA becoming more quaint and less hip they will be marketed as California in it's "Golden"(haha get it?:lolage. So what's your DCA name change idea?

but seriously, If they were going to change the name of the park than would they drop the california theme or just add "Walt" to the title and take out "adventure"?

now that I think of it, Walt Disney's California wouldn't be bad.

Disney Adventure, the spirit of the park is exploration. Nice and generic name for a place with varied experiences and "adventures."

I feel that "Disney's Adventure" is a little too generic of a name, not distinctive enough from Disneyland, which also has "adventures" and involves "exploring" (Indy, Subs, etc.)

If there really is to be no specific distinction between the two parks, call it "Disneyland 2: A Hollywood Sequel"

They seem to be pursing multiple directions at once - California, Walt, Pixar - but California still seems to be in there.

My bid is for Walt Disney's California or Walt Disney's California Adventure.

My only problem with giving it Walt's full name is that it is a park he had nothing at all to do with as far as design and themeing and implementation. I don't know, just doesn't feel right to me naming it after him. Part of the fear is what if they screw up and it bombs. Now we have a failure of a second gate with Walt's full name on it...yeeeesh.

How about "DCA v2.0" for that modern tech-world name? hehe

I'll settle for Walt's Disney's California or maybe Walt's California, but ii don't think that would work.
around 2010 is DCA tenth anniversary right so the marketing part will actually be pretty easy.

Disney's California would work fine for me. Walt Disney's California works too, but doesn't roll off the tongue very well. It would sound to wierd to call it Walt Disney California like Walt Disney Studios Paris. And it is way too long to call it Walt Disney('s) California Adventure. I think "Adventure" should be dropped from the title.

He may not have had much to do with the actual park itself, but it is being redone and themed as the world he lived in. I'm ok with it having his full name. I really like "Walt Disney's California" or even Disney's California. Short, simple and fairly powerful.

As for the modern tech flavored name, I'd make one minor alteration: DCA v2.0 b.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter
