  • Eyes of the Characters

So I am a 'masked character' (not at DL) and every time I see a character costume I try to figure out how it works or more specifically where the person inside looks out of the mask. Some of them I've been able to figure out, but others are a little tricky.

For example: Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto, Chip & Dale and Jessie all see out of the character's actual eyes. While Buzz, Goofy, Woody and Sulley see out of the character's mouth. There are exceptions like King John (Robin Hood) who sees out of his nose.

But then there are the ones I can't figure out:
Flik, Tigger, Pooh, Boo, and the Beast.

Does anyone know how the people inside see out of the head?

I originally thought, that Flik looked out of the mouth, as his eyes are up too high, however, at looking at the mask it appears that the mouth is too low for the eye line considering it is only a couple of inches from the neck.

If anyone has any information on this, and you are willing to share, please help me. (major points if you have photos of what the inside of the masks look like)

And for those who do not want to believe that there is a human inside each costume...the characters DO exist in real life.

Goofy and Pluto see out of their mouth.

Tigger sees out of the mouth as well.

Beast looks out right between the neck and chin.

I know goofy sees out of his mouth, but I always thought Pluto sees out of his actual eyes. the reason for this is when he signs autographs he puts the book on the top of his nose then signs thus illustrating his eye sight is out of the eyes (unless my memory is wrong). True, it is Disney Magic, but some of them are obvious. Personally I think the mesh eyes/mouths on the Toy Story Characters are pretty bad and could be better. But what about Flik and Boo? Any ideas?
