I don't know if anyone has spotted this, but it is a new themed poster board in Frontierland. I wanted to point it out because I love these little new details that only add to the theming of the park. It shouldn't go unnoticed.

Re: Lovely new detail
But who said there was anything wrong with TSI? People on this board think that just because a certain group of Disney lovers don't like something that has changed in the park, that its not worth the Disney quality. I personally love the new Island, it has allot more to do, and its something allot of people can relate to since Pirates are popular now, and Tom Saywer was a couple years back (still popular for many people though.)

Originally posted by Datameister View PostSteve said there was. I don't entirely agree with him. I've yet to experience the new island in person, though I'm sure I'll enjoy it when I get the chance. The main problem Steve was talking about (I hope) was the thematic issue of the pirate theme spreading throughout NOS and into Frontierland, too. Pirates have a fairly tenuous thematic link to NOS, and there really is none whatsoever to Frontierland, and TSI is "broadcast" to both lands. However fun the island is, the pirate theme doesn't really fit with its surroundings. It's not a question of TSI being "Disney quality"--it's just a matter of it fitting or not fitting. Not something I'm particularly torn up over, though, don't worry.Jeff Wayne

Re: Lovely new detail
Ok I see. I think that it does fit the surroundings, since it is surrounded by New Orleans Square, I can see where to problem would arise where Frontierland is concerned. When I watched Cast TV I believe the island was supposed to be one of Hucks adventures with Pirates and that sort.Anyway, having pirates out in the open in NOS doesn't make all that much sense, though Tom and Huck's adventures on the island return a little bit of logic to it all. Anyway, my original point was not to start a discussion of the appropriateness of Pirate's Lair...it was just to say that WDI did a great job posting that board! It's a nice detail.
It would be realy cool if it said something about the Mansion(on the "river notice") it would be like a warning to "stay away from the white plantation house, It has been reported to be haunted!"

Originally posted by Datameister View PostWell, New Orleans has a rather weak connection to Pirates...yes, certain real-life pirates had homes there, and it's rather close to the Caribbean...but honestly, POTC only works because there are temporal waterfalls and magical grottoes to transport you across the thematic divides.Anyway, having pirates out in the open in NOS doesn't make all that much sense, though Tom and Huck's adventures on the island return a little bit of logic to it all. Why don't you compare Darkbeer's pictures of Tom Sawyer Island pre and post Pirate rehab sometime, Steve. Not for the upkeep, design or detail. Just for the looks on the kids faces, and by extension, their parents.
To me, it was a total improvement.
