Using leftover WDW ticket days at DLR? Upgrade to AP?

We will be at WDW and will have two unused days on our Parkhopper tickets. From what we understand, we can also use them at the DLR within the 14 day expiration?

Has anyone done this? How does it work? Do they give you a ticket in exchange? Is it also a parkhopper here?

and the big question:

Can it be used towards a purchase of an AP?

park tickets are not interchangable between DLR and WDW

That is correct.

Present the unexpired WDW ticket at the gate (bypass the ticket booths) Inform the cm there that it is a WDW ticket. They will call a lead who will take your ticket somewhere, take one day off your ticket and hand you a one day DLR ticket and your WDW ticket back. You must do this every day. They only do it one day at a time. And it takes about 5 to 10 minutes. Note that you must use this one day ticket the day of the exchange. So don't go exchange em the night before so you can get right in the gate the next day or something like that. If your WDW ticket had hopping, you get a hopper. If your WDW ticket did not have hopping, you get a one park ticket only.

For others that may be reading. Note this does not work with a WDW AP. Nor are any DLR ticket media accepted at WDW.

I take it you mean can your WDW hopper be used toward an AP at DLR?
That one, I am not sure of.
