  • Disneyland during Winter Break

Hey everyone, I've been roaming these forums for quite sometime now and finally made an account.

I will be heading to Disneyland over the winter holidays with a few friends this year, and I was wondering how crowded Disneyland will be. The current date is between Christmas and New Years.

And here are a few things I would like to know:
    - Lines
    - Nice places to take a break
    - Good spot to watch Believe, and Fantasmic
    - Food

    Many Thanks

If you have sardines in your ancestry you will be quite comfortable

If you have a history of claustrophobia, be sure to take your meds.

Between Christmas and New Years is a popular time to visit the park. There will be long lines for all of the more popular attractions such as Space Mountain, Indiana Jones, Peter Pan and of course you can expect a 60 minute wait for Nemo (if you are lucky). Pirates usually will never be much more than 30 minutes on the worst days, but the Holiday version of the Mansion may be much longer than that. I would estimate that on average the most popular attractions hover between a 45 and 60 minute wait. Take advantage of the fast pass and make the most of your time. You may not be able to see everything if you are only visiting for a day.

Some personal favorites of mine for a break are the streets in and around New Orleans square, outside of the Main street candy shop, and a ride on Pirates (15 minutes)! You can usually find seating and live music to enjoy in these areas.

Decent viewing for Fantasmic can be found anywhere around the Rivers of America, but it will be standing room only and will require you to wait around for a bit. The prime locations are right up front and you usually see people waiting for 2, sometimes 3 hours for a prime sitting spot. The same goes for fireworks, however with those you can stand anywhere on Main Street and have a good view of the skies above. The best view by most accounts would be right up front near the castle, again this would require you to sit and wait for at least 2 hours on the busiest days. You can also view the fireworks else where, but personally I think anywhere on Main Street is the best. Have FUN!

When we went a couple of years ago on the 27th, I didn't really mind the crowds. We were still able to get on all the rides we wanted. And Disneyland looks so nice during Christmas time that I think it's worth it to bear with some bigger crowds.

Home sweet home is the lesson today."

You're wrong, Brer Rabbit, why would I want to be home when I can be at Disneyland?!?
