In your opinions, what attraction/show do you think disney has hyped up in the past just for it to open and be a major disapointment? To me, personaly, it was finding nemo sub. voyage. I was expecting a little bit more.

I don't buy into the hype so... nothing. That doesn't mean I love everything they've done (but I do like the new subs).St. Elizabeth, Patron Saint of Themed parks. Protect us from break downs, long lines, and used gum. Amen.

I have to go wtih you on the Nemo Adventure Subs. Cute attraction, but not up to the hype that they had. When hinges creek in doorless chambers, and strange and frightening sounds echo through the halls, Whenever candlelights flicker, where the air is deathly still, That is the time when ghosts are present practicing their terror with ghoulish delight.
Welcome, foolish mortals, to the Haunted Mansion!

Yep, the Finding Nemo Subs. I rode "Nemo Lite" in Florida and loved it. So I expected so much more in California. But the Subs at Disneyland are just OK. Not GREAT. Too long to load, too many video projections. We like the lagoon part outside the show building. Too bad that they shortened the lagoon section to add more video screens. Oh well, it is still a cute little ride - but not worth what they paid for it (or more than a 20 minute wait).MiceChat 101: Be NICE! If you don't play well with others, you are in the wrong sandbox.

Re: hyped it up, just to be let down
Subs and Buzz for me. I kept hearing all these great things about Buzz so my friend and I waited to ride it. We were blown away by the Buzz AA and even made a sarcastic joke like "Watch, the queue will be all cool like this but the inside will be cheap looking." Unfortunately, we both found that joke to be more than serrious by the end.
And subs, we did early entry and everything to cut down on the line because we were so hyped to ride it. In fact, we even turned down 2 free tickets because we would have had to wait till around 10 to enter the park and we knew the line would be insane by then. In hindsight, we shoulda saved the $60 and waited.Women, they make the highs higher and the lows more frequent.

Re: hyped it up, just to be let down
I'd say BLAB...but actually, there wasn't all that much hype around it, so never mind. The experience was actually just about what I expected, or perhaps a little better...which wasn't saying much.
Rocket Rods were a let-down in that the line was so long yet the ride was so short. I did, however, enjoy them quite a bit, and I now have ENORMOUSLY sentimental memories attached to them. I only got to ride them once, and I really wish the operational concerns would just magically disappear so they could come back. Alas, even Disneyland's magic isn't quite strong enough...

Dare I say it.... but the "New" Space Mountain <ducks and covers>... Sure its smooth and seems faster, but they could have made it bigger, better and really blown us away.
I'm hoping WDW gets some love and inspiration with their "remodel"....Last edited by HeyBaloo; 10-31-2007, 09:40 AM.Hello everyone!

Dare I say it.... but the "New" Space Mountain <ducks and covers>... Sure its smooth and seems faster, but they could have made it bigger, better and really blown us away. I'm hoping WDW gets some love and inspiration with their "remodel"....I mean, I LOVE Space Mountain. I've said it before--I'll literally ride it five times in one day if given the chance. I invariably reenter the loading area either clapping like mad or sitting back with my hands behind my head and a crazed grin on my face. It's a blast. So I definitely wasn't let down...but it could have been better. The elements that are there are great, but during the coaster itself, the lack of anything to see besides stars and a shoddily-done asteroid projected on the walls is a little disappointing. I really liked the FX-1; it added a lot to the three-dimensionality of the ride. Don't know what the heck it was supposed to be--a "geodesic satellite" would need something to orbit around, by definition, and it was the only thing lit in the mountain--but it added a certain something to the ride.
Man, here's a cool idea. This is the kind of "blue sky" idea that I know could never actually come to fruition, but I like the mental image so much. Instead of adding one stationary object at the top of the mountain, it would be incredible if there were room for a second track within the mountain. Not a track for the riders, mind you, but a track for a miniature space ship, rather similar to the one in the loading area. It would be dimly lit so as to not light up the whole interior of the mountain, and it would glide at a moderate pace along its loop through the mountain. You'd see it at different times each time you rode it, and if you got lucky, it might actually go right over your head.
Don't start telling me about the reasons this wouldn't work--I highly doubt there's room in all the scaffolding and equipment for anything else, and I know it'd be difficult to light it just right. But the idea is a cool one...
