Okay, we have the "hyped it up, just to be let down" thread, so how about which rides were hyped up (by Disney, or in your own mind) and actually delivered on their promise.

For me...

Indiana Jones Adventure - classic Disney dark ride theming meets high-speed thrills? Amazing

Tower of Terror - same concept as Indy

are the two that immediately pop to mind...

- The new Space Mountain. I was so anxious during the two years it was closed, and it completely exceeded all my expectations.
- Maybe surprising to some, but DCA. I've loved that park ever since it opened.

Haunted Mansion Holiday. What's the big deal I thought? So they added some elements from the movie, why is it such a big deal? Turned out, it's practically a whole new ride. I was really impressed with it.

Captain Eo, Star Tours, Splash Mountain, Roger Rabbit Car Toon Spin, Indiana Jones Adventure are the Disneyland rides that totally blew me away. But of course, I rode those when they opened. A lot of people will ride them now after hearing a decade of hype... those may be let down a bit more easily.

But for Walt Disney World, I was hyped up for Expedition Everest as well as Mission Space. Mission Space even made a TAMER version to ride. When I went on the "normal" version I was just blown away. Everest was also really really cool but I think that one met my expectations.

Completely agree, and I hold no grudges that Indy took some of the Jungle because they made it COUNT... which is one of many Jungle mantra's... if you are going to do it MAKE IT COUNT. RR makes me laugh because it is basically teacups with a blacklight.

BLAB slightly exceeded my not-so-good expectations. I'd heard a lot about it, and I honestly thought the ride would sicken me--not from the motion, but from the cheapness. Luckily, I did indeed enjoy myself, even though I was annoyingly aware of how fake everything was...but not as much as I expected to be.

Screamin' exceeded my expectations. I really enjoyed and still enjoy it, in spite of its un-Disneyish lack of theming.

When I first rode Star Tours as a Star-Wars-crazed child, it blew my mind. The concept of traveling through the Star Wars universe was a dream come true, and well-executed one at that, at least to my mind at the time. I think I literally rode it six times that day. It was like seeing another Star Wars film, but living it, too. While the ride has significantly less visceral impact on me now, I do enjoy it, especially when I open myself up to that kind of "childish" attitude that makes Disneyland so much more fun.
