    Jungle Cruise Closing for Refurb 1/28/08

    The Disney wen site has the Jungle Cruise closing for Refurb on 1/28/08, and is closed all of Feb so far. They don't list March so I do not know the re-open date.

    Does anyone know what they might be doing?

    They're adding a loop.

    Okay, but seriously...

    They're adding Johnny AAs. Jungle Cruise - When Pirates Attack! Has a nice ring to it don't ya think?

    But anyway, I'd like to think they're just going to clean up the ride and perhaps put in a few subtle, but amazing enhancements. Perhaps something from the upcoming movie.

        Probably just some major refurbs. Touching up the models, cleaning the boats, etc.

                    IF... and this is a big IF... they are doing what I have been told then it will be interesting and worth it however I was under the impression that it would happen later rather then sooner. As to the Skips, I was with a few older ones this evening... they said to say hello.

                      I've heard they are going to do an overlay for their next big Holiday celebration, No Pants Day. Its the first Friday of May.

                          Why does everyone automatically assume that just because a ride closes for a few weeks that something sinister or even exciting is afoot? Its off season, many of the rides go down in the off season for nothing more than general rehab... cleaning, repainting etc. This is probably nothing more than that. Does seem like they are going to be short more rides than normal, even for the usual off season rehabs.

                              To me it just sounds like the yearly rehab. Other than cleaning and touching things up it I don't think that they can do much more in a month or so.

                                  I hope they get the wheelchair boat up and running again. My daughter was very dissapointed that it wasn't working when we were there last month.

                                        Because there are legions of evil minions back in TDA with nothing better to do (or, in some cases, no apparent job to do at all) who attempt to maintain the appearance of usefulness by plotting such seemingly unnecessary interruptions to the normal course of things.

                                        When it would be better to just give them a broom and pan and have them wander around in the parks. Works for Ed. (Photographer not supplied.)
