Rides closing?

This morning when I was driving my children to school I heard on the radio that Disneyland is going to be closing down some rides to work on them - Pirates of the Carribean, It's a Small World, Pinocchio, and Alice in Wonderland, because they are stalling. I didn't catch all the information so I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this? We just booked a trip to go to DL for the first week of December and I would be so disappointed if all those rides were closed while we were there.

Small World will be going down after the holiday season until the holidays next year (long refurb). Alice is down right now but I'm not sure when it will be up again. Haven't heard anything about POTC or Pinocchio. Maybe others can give more information.

Welcome to MiceChat! According to Disneyland's (terrible) website, the only thing closed in DL during that week is the River Belle Terrace. Looks like you're in luck!

We will be there the first week of December as well and I agree, having those rides down will suck so I hope it isn't happening.

I knew about the Small World refurb coming up after the holiday season. I haven't heard anything about rides "staling" though.

Thanks everyone I am glad to hear that It's a Small World won't be closed until after the holidays as that was my favourite ride when I was a child, and I can't wait to take my dd on it.

First week of December visitor here too! Last time I checked, just in case you happen to walk across the way to the other park soon to be worth going to...Monsters Inc was going to be down that week as well.

Also, as of this morning, Jedi Trading Academy is still not on the calendar in December - anyone know why?

How exciting so many of you will be at the resort the first week of December. Try to fit in a noon meet on Sunday Always a fun way to spend an hour or two and make new friends.

I'm going in Dec. to but on Christmas day. It's are family event that we do go to Disneyland on Christmas day. Cause we don't do prizents anymore cause there's nothing we want. And send it's only the 3 of us left in our family.

Try not to listen to what the DJs tell you about Disneyland because most likely, they're getting the news fifth hand... meaning all their information isn't correct but they try to spout it like they know what they're talking about.

Small World is the only one that is going through the "heavy" refurb for a year. If anything else closes, it's for an entirely different reason.

I know that Ralph Garman on KROQ gave out bad info this morning too as he made it sound like Pirates was going through the same refurb.

I heard that Mr. Toads was going to go under heavy refurb from these same DJ's. I guess when they say heavy, they mean for a year? This is no good. But what is good, is that the finished product will be Disney's newest E-Ticket!

Sounds like the News Story that Al Lutz broke regarding too many "fluffys" riding attractions and sinking them.

The New York Times covered it on Saturday, and seems like the radio staff saw the article and decided to discuss it.
