Awesome trip report! Thanks for sharing--

yet again, Disney has brought like-minded people together and helped them celebrate what makes them special.

    Way cool.

    Peace, as always,

The other scavenger hunt was not MC related, is was an independant scavenger hunt.

Something you'll notice is that attendees in general had to adopt an identity that could theoretically pass for normal Muggle clothing. The Slytherin couple you see towards the end of the report were originally turned away at the gate because they were wearing wizard robes. They stored them and then came back to the gate to find that the security guard who accosted them was no longer there anyway. Some, however, got away with wearing robes. It's impossible to create a standard for turning guests away because their attire is too flamboyant or costume-like. It's an arbitrary decision made by whoever is at the front gate and feels like putting the kibosh on someone's togs.

The rationale they gave is that adults in 'costumes' will confuse children. Personally, I think kids are a lot more sophisticated than people give them credit. It's never the kids who are confused by who at the park as a costumed character and who isn't - it's a small handfull of adult tourists who aren't as media-literate as their children.
