  • What's going on in the parking structure?

I was at the resort Tuesday 11/6 and saw that they had temp walls up on the 2nd and 3rd levels of the Mickey & Friends structure where it meets the loading area. Does anyone know what they're doing? I was parked in Pinochio so I didn't get a chance to see up there other than the walls.

I hear they're converting it from a parking structure to a parking terrace.

Come to think of it, the escalators always seem to be broken everytime I go into the parks.

Do you mean where the characters are painted on the wall next to the escalators? If so, they're probably repainting the characters since they were painted in Halloween garb and now need to be repainted for Christmas.

I'm unfamiliar with that term. IS the Parking Terrace by the Piazza?

They are adding a loop. Make sure the accelerator on your car is in good working order...

In keeping with Disney naming conventions Shouldn't the structure be referred to As "Pixar's CARS at the Disneyland Parking Terrace presented by Chevron"?

They're not broken. They turn them off to get people to move faster when it's busy.

You have to take the guest shuttle from the parking terrace to the piazza.

Actually you take the guest shuttle from the parking terrace but you have to travel through the outer lobby before you get to the pizza.

If the escalator is broken, it will be closed off for use. More often though, if it is simply switched off, it is for capacity issues.

People can walk faster than the escalator can move, and for whatever reason (lazy Americans... what have you) people tend to get on an escalator and just stand there to let it do all the work. That usually creates bottlenecks. By switching it off, and forcing people to move on their own, they actually move faster.

                                    Um...

Isn't this what an escalator is designed to do?

This is great for people who have been walking all over the parks all day and see that the escalator is shut off at 12:30AM when there's only a trickle of people coming off the trams.

If they turn them off for capacity issues then they always forget to turn them back on.

Damn those lazy Americans for being tired after walking all over the resort for 12 hours or more!!!
