  • New Parking Policy?

Is there a new parking policy at Mickey and Friends?

Yesterday (11/8/Thursday) the parking cast member informed me of a new parking policy update. The parking ticket looks different for starters....

The blacked out area is name and AP number.

Anyways, the CM stressed and emphasized that if I am leaving the structure I absolutely must have this pass and my AP card to get back in. It seems they are closing a loop hole for people and/or CMs that may abuse the parking by avoiding paying for fees.

Anyone have more info on this?

How can CM's abuse free parking? By giving the Parking ticket to others?

Cm's get free parking as long as we flash our ID.

      Re: New Parking Policy?

The parking ticket look the same as the ones I saved from our last trip on August.

It looks like you're an AP, though. So it could be a new policy being enforced on AP holders so that they do not give away their pass to someone else for the parking. It's like showing your handstamp and park ticket at the same time.

The CMs get the same parking ticket, but with "Cast Member" on it. It is a possibility they can pass off to their friends. That is a good idea what they are doing.

it's not the CM's that are abusing it... it's the AP holders.

I have done this before. Since I have an AP with parking, I would use my AP in my car, then give the parking stub to the other car in my party and get them in free as well.

It's got the APer's name on it now and you have to show your AP with the ticket to re-enter. I guess a lot of APer were abusing it!

I did notice that on my last visit to the park, but didn't have time to ask why they are doing that now. In the past though I have gone to M&F, shown my AP and was waved through without a ticket at all - this happened a few times and messed up my collection of parking tickets for every visit.

Before, they woudln't even scan your AP most times. But sometimes they would. Now it seems that they MUST scan it.

As if they parking situation could get any slower. But I understand why they are doing it.

Someone call the Whaaahmbulence. So what if less than honest APs can't abuse the parking system anymore.

And we wonder why APers have a bad rap.

Honestly I don't get all the bad AP name calling. I know I don't fit any of those bad statements, along with the fact that I had no idea people were abusing the parking system.

I noticed it looked different yesterday. I will have to pull it out of my car and look at it again.

95% of AP's don't fit most of the bad statements. It's those 5% however that give us all a bad name. True in ANY situation.

Just because you don't see it for yourself doesn't mean it isn't out there.

EVERY group has their bad apples... and sadly they are the ones that set the stereotype for the entire group that they are in.

same, i had no idea people were abusing it. as for parking, both me and most people i go to the park with are AP holders, so there's no reason for us to misuse it, i guess. even when my non-ap holding family comes to visit, we will simply try to fit everyone in one car, or bring along my boyfriend who is also an ap holder, if we use two cars.

i really don't know how people could abuse it except for how The Dude explained it, and how often are AP holders the only AP holders in what must be a large party not to fit in one car?

                                Re: New Parking Policy?

Well for AP parking abuse, I have heard of people using it to get more than one car in for free, and since they didn't used to scan your card, the new policy may be to fix this loophole.

As for CM abuse, they basically can give out free parking if they weren't required to scan each card, I remember they would usually have a stack printed ready to distribute...I have also heard that some guests receiving free parking for no particular reason...

So it seems now that it would fix two potential problems. I dont know official word, but his would be my guess for the reason behind the change.

Something I just noticed was that the ticket they gave me has the wrong date, it was yesterday (11/8) and it says (11/2) on the ticket lol!

I'm fine with this. I never abused the system to get someone parked for free and I don't care that they have to scan the card now. Good, fine, great.

I don't have a problem with the new system either, just am surprised to find that people would abuse this.

I keep my parking tickets as souveniers too, so now it will be personalized with my name .

I'm all for anything that stops people from abusing the system and giving the rest of us APer's a bad name :judge:

So now if you lose the stub you're screwed? Doesn't make sense.

Couldn't you abuse the system even if you payed? Won't they let you in if you show your paid stub? You can walk out and get in another car just like an AP holder.
