  • [Question] Question About MaxPass at Haunted Mansion

In this week's DL update, two pics are shown with very little detail in the way of commentary. They show one set of MP scanners at the head of the queue, just as I've been seeing them in many reports online, the only way I've seen it til this week.

But... the 2nd pic shows another set deeper in the queue. Are they all like this? If so, is it required to scan twice (verification), or is it for a slow day when the line is much shorter (less staffing).

Curious if anyonne had insight or an educated guess.

I don't think anything has been confirmed yet. But my suspicion is that its your latter. Likely a scanner for a slow day with shorter lines which kinda makes a FP at that point moot.

Im going with the guess of "Second Verification" since right now cast members collect FP at the merge point regardless of how slow a day it is. First cast member checks the times as before and the merge cast member will "Redeem" like it is now.

This. I've only been to WDW once, but if memory serves me correctly there are two magicband readers at most attractions, one to check when you enter the FP queue (like the cast member checking your time), and one up where the line merges (like the cast member taking your ticket).

WDW used to have 2 readers at every attraction, but now I think they only use the one at the beginning of the line. Many of the queues at WDW are separated further than DLs though. At DL it would make more sense to have people scanning twice so you dont have people cutting in line

Yeah pretty much every line that has them has them at the front and end of a fast pass que. I liken it to how cast members check your fast passes initially at the gate, and then collect them st the end of the fastpass que. But really, we won't know until it starts being used.
