    Have you seen the Halloween events at DLParis or HK? We got ripped off at DL!

    Have you seen the Halloween events at DL Paris or HK?
    We got ripped off at DL!
    Before I see these from around the world I already thought ours were juvenile and too contemporary for 1900's main st and guess what I was right!

    DL planners what gives??!

    Don't forget the really cool Jack Skellington parade float in HK. That thing is awesome.

      Disneyland Paris' Halloween event is really tacky and odd, with ugly Pumpkin men and pink witches ruining the atmosphere of the park. I think Disneyland's decorations are much classier.

          Paris' Halloween stuff is dark and grim. I like that Disneyland's Halloween is whimsical and friendly. If you want dark and scary go to Knott's or Universal.

            I'm sorry I must be mistaken I thought Halloween WAS dark and grim when I think of whimsy and friendly I usually think of xmas..............

              No, Halloween does not have to be "dark and grim". I like that the most of the Disney parks present a idealized and family friendly version of the celebrations. I hate the gruesome horror events at Knott's and Universal that aim only to scare the crap out of guests. What the Disney parks do is much more appealing to me and suitable to all guests. It's definitely more magical and fun.

                I certainly would not want a gruesome halloween like you see at Universal or Knott's. However, I think it might be nice to have a few Halloween things that are on par with the Haunted Mansion. I certainly do not want gore or people jumping out at you, but a little more Nightmare Before Christmas would be nice. Something on that level. A little more spooky in some small area of the park might be neat.

                    I love what DLP does! I think it's amazing. It's not dark and grim at all. It's pleasantly macabre. It's exactly what the first Silly Symphony (the Skeleton Dance) was. It fits perfectly with what Disneyland is and I think we should get it too. At least DLs own version on that level. I have a feeling though that this is all due to the YOAMD.

                      I believe you will find you are mistaken, sorta. Halloween, for me is whimsical and fun...dark, but in a tongue in cheek way. Some enjoy a much darker experience, but this is Disneyland. The park balances the equation for families that don't want the grim and macabre of Universal or Knotts

                      Samhain, which I celebrate as well, is more of a quiet and reflective holiday for me. It's a dark holiday, but not grim.

                        Everybody's taste is different.

                        I for one don't mind what DL has for Halloween decorations. Although, I would definitely like to see more decorations go up. If DL wanted to go scary I would be fine with that too. However, I know that if DL went scary my sister would not visit the park during the Halloween season. As it is the HM scares the daylights out of her (she will gladly skip that attraction on every trip). But once HMH is put up, she is all over it.

                                Not to mention Chernaborg. Meantime, that was part of the 15th Anniversary Parade in Paris.

                                After all, we have a thread going on how to plus up next year's Halloween events at DLR in California. Most mentioned so far by Mice Caht boardies are a Halloween Parade and a Fireworks show with a Trick Or Treat theme.

                                  I like what we have at DL. However there is always room for more. Personally I love the pumpkins on the Twain, I'd like to see our Twain decorated more like that. Maybe a lot of what they have in Paris is a bit more dark, but from the pictures I saw not all of it and not that dark. You can still do Halloween with an edge to it without going all the way over to the total dark side, and we could do that over hear as well.

                                    Yikes! - I don't like at all.

                                    I mean it's definitely Halloween, and cool, but it's so not Disney. I mean, Mickey and Minnie riding in the eye socket of a skull?? If I saw that coming down mainstreet I would probably pass out.

                                    No thanks, I like the light hearted and fun DL Halloween better. Those decorations belong some place more like Universal or Knotts.
