I can't even imagine how much fun that'd be on the ride at that time.

Hmm? I'm confused. This was a rare and unique treat for guests...for just a little while. It was for fun...and it's not permanent. I think Mr. Depp is a busy man.

Johnny Depp is actually a full time resident of the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. He's there from ride opening to closing. He has to stay overnight, too. They didn't give him a bed, though, so he has to remain 100% still the entire night like the rest of the animatronics.

That is amazing! Disney magic at its best!

Didn't he do something similar for the Alice in Wonderland sequel? I remember seeing something where he was dressed as the Mad Hatter and people got to ask him questions in a booth. Anyone remember what I'm talking about?

Ok, that is pretty cool. What a joy that would have been to see him.
I open a toy, review it and take mediocore pictures. Read all about it HERE!

This is such a great idea.

I look forward to Harrison Ford reprising his role as "Indiana Jones" in Adventureland soon.

This hearkens to Disneyland's early days when, for example, Guy Williams would appear as "Zorro" and Fess Parker would appear as "Davy Crockett."

I love having many of the actors and actresses who originated some of these roles perform as the characters on Disneyland's stage in the enormous theatre-in-the-round that is The Magic Kingdom.

what a fun and totally cool surprise. Even if you are not a fan of the recent updates, this would bring a smile to you face. Just the uniqueness and magic of it. I really like when Disney does these type of magical experiences. Even though its marketing, It is still something of quality and unique in a way that you won't find anywhere else.

Maybe Johnny got a week's worth of wine allowance for this stunt?

I assumed this was a joke and had a good chuckle at it. I hope I'm correct in my assumption because if not I can't understand how someone could hate fun so much.

I have been wondering if they would do this again and he has done it several times before. If your an actor even of Depp's level of popularity it benefits you greatly to do any favor Disney asks as they control by far the largest amount of future planned projects and the largest catalog of IP's so as an actor its almost worth signing your soul to them as they can keep you working for decades within their own system while still going you great depth of characters to play.
