From his instgram account. I'm pretty nervous about what they might do.

Well, it does say "partner with Disney's brilliant Imagineers" so maybe they're just buying his celebrity name. Disney bought Marvel, Lucasfilm, and now The Rock?

He is in an upcoming movie about the jungle cruise. So I'm sure it all has to do with that.

I'm imagining Depp-ish "uncanny valley" animatronics of "The Rock" doing "wacky" things in all the scenes. The Skips will have something new to work with, in any case.

It's just such a classic, I hope they do it tastefully.

Any bets on a future Rock animatronic in the Jungle Cruise? I've got this feeling the Jungle Cruise will get the same treatment Pirates did.

Here's hoping the movie bombs at the box office.

Or at least not make enough to make a franchise out of.

This is depressing news. I'm all for redoing elements of the Jungle Cruise, but I don't want to lose the tone of the ride and have the Rock shoved in there.

A bomb would be a better object-lesson to the latest group at Disney's revolving-door management. The lessons learned from their Haunted Mansion and Country Bears movies disappeared with the people who produced those turdburgers. Today's Disney management doesn't learn from the mistakes of the past. All you need hear is "The Rock is producing and starring in a movie based on Disneyland's Jungle Cruise," to know that history is about to repeat itself, and that management re-education is in order.

Yep. Unfortunately, the people who should be cringing the most are the ones who greenlit the movie.

I should rephrase I should say the bigger the bomb the better but as long as I don't see Jungle Cruise 2 Electric Tentaloo, the Rock on the Jungle Cruise, or Jungle Cruise the movie merchandise in stores i'll be happy. But the day I hear Disney stops PotC sequels and stops making Disney movies based on rides in general I'll be a happy man.

I hope this works out just as well as that crappy Eddie Murphy Haunted Mansion movie.
