Ok, so I know that it's happened to most people on here at some point. But I wanted to hear about some more E-Stop stories. I have a few, one that even happened today on Tower of Terror.

There were a bunch of rowdy High School students there near 8 or 8:30ish on 11/11. So I went with some of my college buddies and had a noob with us today. Our bellhop asked if there were any new people checking in. We pointed her out and wished her that something exhilarating would happen. So, when we got on, these kids bring on their backpack. So, through the first part of the ride, right up to the picture, we were doing fine, until the kid with the backpack decided to float it and it nearly hit the top of the elevator. The ride stopped and we knew it was him. The "voice of God" came on telling everyone to hold on to any loose items. We were pulled slowly back to the loading area and were told that we would be able to go again, but we were stopped because of this one kid.

Well, that's one for now. Now lets hear yours before I tell you more of mine!

The kid should have tried it on Screamin' instead. If you've got a bag held securely between your legs during the bunny hops, it'll float up and down quite safely, and no one will stop the ride.

I've only had one e-stop and it was in the final tunnel of Space. Nothing really exciting.

I hit one once, but that's about it. No walk offs for me.

Copy/Pasted from Yesterday's TR... I had my first walk-off! Very nearly had one tonight as well; we were just about at the front of the Indy queue about 10 mins before closing when it broke down.

          Saturday night, 11/10

I used my Indy fastpass, but just at the top of the "staircase" past the gates of doom, the ride broke! All the lights went on, and we were eventually walked off. It was very exciting for me; although i go to the park at least once every weekend, I had never been walked off before!

There's even more detail in this ride than I realized.
Pots that I never would have notices had I not been sitting still with the lights on:

          Protruding bricks in the walls:

The entrance to the main room... I knew we were in for it when I saw the handrails rise up!

          More detail:

The Indy anamatronic kept moving! All the audio and lights and everything shuts off, but he's still waving his arms around soundlessly. Our CM told us that he scares the jesus out of her every time she walks by.

The idol room... I love the effects that change for this. I've never been through eternal youth; I keep getting the future instead (and twice I got earthly riches). The simple change of lighting is so transformative.

Disneyland Imagineers just LOVE their scrims, don't they?

Re: E-Stops and Rowdy 'n' Rude kids

A few years ago, we'd just gotten past the first dark room (w/ bat eyes) on Big Thunder when the ride suddenly stopped and all the lights came on. We sat there for a moment before a CM appeared to escort us off the train and back to the station. She didn't tell us anything other than how to get back, so we assumed it was probably mechanical.

At the exit gate, another CM was giving head-of-the-line passes to everyone from the stopped trains, so we asked her precisely what happened. She told us that some dumb kid had decided it would be a great idea to stand up on the first hill (he was in our train, all the way in the front where we couldn't see).

We got to walk the tracks and skip to the head of the line on Splash Mountain. He got escorted out of the park by security. I guess we got the better deal!

Our E-Stop was boring, but an E-stop none the less. We got stopped on Alice in Wonderland right at the top of the tunnel where the Cheshire Cat has the google eyes. We stopped because a lady was told by the CM's that her two little girls were not allowed to ride in the front seat together. When the ride started the lady picked up the little girl in the back seat and put her in the front seat. Low and behold, ride stopped! I don't know if the lady got removed from the park but she should have!

I'm waiting for someone to post about being evac'd on Jungle... Boat 2 Boat... it seems like every time we've had to do it no one has a camera. Also have a few evac stories from Thunder and Indy. Thunder mainly for people standing up and Indy was usually the ride doing an auto. Plenty from Jungle as well...

We were stopped on Haunted Mansion a while back. We were towards the end of the graveyard when suddenly the ride stopped and the lights went on. After madly taking pictures for 10 minutes or so, security walked by escorting 2 younger boys (probably early teens or so) and carrying a basket. Apparently one of the boys tried to take take a souvenier from the attic scene and were caught. As we walked out the exit of the Mansion, we saw the boys standing with security behind a gate (probably waiting for their parents to get there).

I've had a few good stories from E-stop-ees in City Hall. Recently, I had two teenage girls who had put their feet up on the top of the sleds on the matterhorn and caused an E-stop, then they came to City Hall to complain about the lead, who got mad at them for risking their safety and causing an evac.

It's all in how you handle them.

I dont know if you would call this an e-stop but we were on the Jungle Crusie and we heard a sound like a tree falling and when we got past the hippos there was a big piece of bamboo that had fallen across the river. We had to go backwards all the way back to the dock. The skipper was funny trying to do the speil backwards on our trip back. That happend about 3 years ago.

LOL, we go 101 all the time. we once added one of our CMs names to the wait times board backstage, then posted his wait time as "101: animatronic is broken down in the corner and crying".

I had a Space Mountain E-stop. Apparently, someone got too close to the track back in the loading station (this was pre-2005 remodel). And we came to an abrupt halt in the middle of space. The music stopped, but the stars were still on. The pre-recorded voice told us that our rockets were locked in a "geo-stationary orbit." So me and my dad sat there for about 5 minutes until the lights came on and we got to see the track. We saw the CMs come up and start pushing the cars to give them enough momentum to return to the station. When we got back, they sent us right back into the mountain and we rode the first half of the ride with the lights on before switching the stars back on but no music (which made me sad, but whatever).
