I was wondering if anyone else finds the flashing necklaces annoying? I was on Pirates the other evening, and 2 young children had them on, flashing away. I turned to the parents, and asked nicely if they could turn them off, and was told the children would not like it, and start to cry. So, spoil brats ruin the ride for everyone. Nothing like going down the first flume, and seeing the ceiling right above you.

The ones that get me are the flashing glasses. My wife and I call them seizure glasses...i don't know how people wear those things.

Re: Flashing necklaces
I hate them.
But I am not going to complain about them because Disney sells them. If Disney felt that they were that detrimental to experiencing an attraction then they wouldn't sell them. They would find another way to make a quick buck -- something that is not very difficult for them to do.

Personally? I would have turned it off...I don't' like disturbing others. But on the other hand...I don't let little things like that bother me.

Re: Flashing necklaces
At least they can be turned off. If the parents had bought glow necklaces instead which used to be all that were sold then they would always be on for everybody who bought them without even the opportunity to turn them off. Even the old tomorrowland hats that blinked all over the place didn't have an off switch short of pulled the battery off of them.

Re: Flashing necklaces
See and for some reason this never bothered me. Of course I don't have a high opinion of the public. I always enjoyed those individuals who would go on Jungle and then talk non-stop, loud, annoying, same thing on subs. Little kids I understand but when grown adults are talking extremely loud and pissing everyone off around them.... now that annoys me."Happiness is a Low Water Level"

Re: Flashing necklaces
I like them, when they are on the "street" and not in an attraction. I like the idea that in some way it helps people to feel like part of the show. Inside an attraction is a whole different story. We won light up dream ears one trip, but had the courtesy to turn them off in attractions, shows, and confined spaces.

Re: Flashing necklaces
Rule should be if you are not allowed to use the flash on your camera then you should not be allowed to have your blinking necklace (or any other type) on during the ride. I myself am a sucker for these flashy devices and would never think to use them for evil.........that is just bad form.

Re: Flashing necklaces
I actually buy my kids the glow necklaces at the dollar store if I know we are going to be in the park after dark because I refuse to pay those prices for the flashing ones (that they never play with again). That being said I always put them in my packpack if we are on a dark ride. I have never been on a ride with anyone with those flashing things, but if they have an off switch they should be off in dark rides.

Re: Flashing necklaces
I find them annoying on dark rides, but I've never felt compelled to commit physical violence against someone else's kid for it. *shrugs*
