  • Star Wars Galaxy's End Main Entrance Open in Frontierland...With A Question...

Well one more piece of the puzzle has been revealed. The main entrance into Galaxy's Edge in Frontierland is open for viewing. It's nice and wide, which should help with the enormous number of guests who will enter through there.

I do have a question for any of you Disney Trivia Specialists out there. Along the entrance is a red stagecoach. It used to be backstage next to the Pope House and I believe was one of the original ride stagecoaches pulled by horses during Disneyland's early days. On top of the stagecoach is a piece of luggage with a tag that reads, "Deliver to _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _".

So go on the trail, look at the luggage, read the name on the tag, and let us know who that person is. It's an interesting piece of Disneyland history and is tied into what will soon become Galaxy's Edge.

A picture or two would help.

Dear Peoplemover Fans, If you want to see a new attraction that at least mimics the 1967 Peoplemover in a future Tomorrowland remodel, you need to write to the powers-that-be, and let them know. If you don't - Then the next time Tomorrowland is remodeled, you will see a land barren of any "Peoplemover" type attraction.

I wasn't able to. I can't take photos onstage. Maybe someone was in the park today and took some and will post them.

              Wow. Obscure.

Less obscure is the company that stagecoach belongs to. "Wilderness Expeditions and Delivery service," or WED, for short.

Ding, Ding, Ding! We have a winnah! Yes. An homagé to the land that was never built, Discovery Bay. It would have been a sight to see. But I'm sure it would have eventually been bulldozed over for Star Wars Land. So maybe it's best it was never there.

Huh....no....it is nice and wide to put up chains and security and medics to monitor folks waiting and waiting and waiting in lines, created by all those chains.

Not to dive off topic, but this is how I sometimes feel about Westcot. It would've just had IPs hamfisted in there just like what's happening to Epcot and DCA now. And Western River Expedition may have gotten a successful movie with then the characters being shoved into the ride. While the ideas of the past were often wonderful, what could've happened in the end may have just been the same as what we ended up getting.

But it is appropriate for there to be a nod to Discovery Bay here. Not only does Galaxy's Edge take over where Discovery Bay would've been, but it is a spiritual successor in a way. Star Wars is what killed the Jules Verne type of science fiction so it only makes sense that Star Wars is going where the Jules Verne inspired land once would have.

Thanks for taking the time to share this and to do it I'm such a fun way. I found myself checking the thread to see if anyone knew. Thanks Natalie.

Just imagine if they tore down Paradise/Pixar Pier and replaced it with Discovery Bay...

If it can't be part of DL, put it in DCA. It was conceived as a steampunkier version of the Bay Area after all.

They're really going to have to figure out something different during Fantasmic. A Star Wars Land entrance on the other side of Frontierland as the Fanstasmic crowds exit is going to give a whole new meaning to Battle Escape.

Not to go too far off topic here, but a question regarding the entrances to SWGE - I heard there were to be three. One by Hungry Bear through Critter Country, one in Frontierland on the Big Thunder Trail (the one Natalie refers to)....where is the third? I'm sure it's common knowledge; I just missed it. TIA.

There are two entrances to SWL/SWGE along Big Thunder Trail -- one on the Frontierland end and another on the Fantasyland end.
