It was on this past week's Disneyland update column on MiceAge.
Walls are up around the bridges for Adventureland and Frontierland and a few more places around the park to expand/widen the walkways for next year's Star Wars opening.
Seriously? I'm more than a little miffed at SWL and how bad it's screwing up the park.
One could argue that the path widening needed to occur regardless of Star Wars Land. And of course the Adventureland Bridge had already been widen once since 1955 with nary a peep from anyone.
I am glad Disney is acknowledging that crowding is an issue but removing parts of the park itself to make room seems like just buying bigger pants when you gain weight rather then adding diet and exercise to get back in shape. One concern that seems to have been ignored often is they are widening paths and adding stroller parking. Yet they are removing rest areas and I have yet to hear of any additional restrooms being added?

Exactly. Disney "acknowledges" that crowding is a problem... then pursues policies that further increase crowds.
Clearly, the crowding problem is very different for Disney than for its customers: For Disney, crowds are only a problem when they're not big enough.
"Disneyland is often called a magic kingdom because
it combines fantasy and history, adventure and learning,
together with every variety of recreation and fun,
designed to appeal to everyone."
- Walt Disney
"Disneyland is all about turning movies into rides."
- Michael Eisner

They just recently (last year?) expanded the Adventureland Restrooms and presumably Star Wars land will have additional restrooms.
Cuz when you practically give out annual passes for free, why not treat the place like the mall?
That would prove that value of entry is a higher consideration for customers than crowding though right? They would rather pay less than have a park that isn't crowded.

The water barriers offer part of the theme of moving into the Frontier and Jungle. They don't need to be any wider.

Actually both are true. We pay for our AP's because it allows us the freedom to go more often for shorter periods avoiding the crowds or simply cutting our day short if the crowds are large. If we paid single day entry we would have to be far more calculated and willing to endure more crowded periods of the day to see and do all we wanted in much fewer trips.
