Human Ariel In Christmas Parade!!

I saw the Christmas parade for the first time last night (11/18) and for the most part it's pretty much the same. But as soon as the Princesses section came out those gates on Main Street and I saw Ariel (with Prince Eric) dancing together I about lost it with excitement!!

Whoever the young girl was that was portraying Ariel, she looked absolutely beautiful in her sea foam dress. And Prince Eric looked really darn cute too!! But just to see Ariel in human form, dancing with Prince Eric was a true delight. I'm so glad Disney finally decided to do this and give Ariel her rightful spot with the other Princesses...it's about time!

This was mentioned a while back by me in a backstage picture thread of the Parade warehouse. Its due to the two new (try saying that fast) units in the parade that carry Woody and Buzz that replaced the now retired Toy Block units

Take a closer look at the dress the center part represents gills of her fin.

Thanks for the info and I apologize, but I never saw your original post about this. I should have looked, but honestly, I was just so excited to see Ariel (and Prince Eric) in human form that I wanted to share my excitement right away!

And the next time I see the parade I will look more closely to her dress, cuz I was a little far from her last night. But from a distance she looked beautiful. And I'm really picky when it comes to how Disney chooses the girls who play that role. Most I've seen have not been up to par (IMHO), but the girl playing her last night in the parade was perfect!

If anyone has good pictures of Ariel in the parade, I would love to see them posted on here! Thanks!!

I was excited when I heard she was going to be in the parade in human form. The only place I had ever seen her in human form before was DCA Ariel's Grotto where she made jokes about not being used to standing on feet for so long. Love her new dress. It looks perfect for her. I never understood why she was still in mermaid form, because she became a human at the end of the movie. Disney's finally following the story :thumbup:. Cool pics!

I would assume is because everybody would recognize Ariel as a mermaid rather then a human.
