[Question] Visiting Disneyland solo - suggestions on things to do?

I'm visiting the park this coming Monday and Tuesday all by myself, and I'm wondering if any of you can give me suggestions on things that are fun to do when traveling solo.

And if anybody will be there, and would like to meet up, that would be great too!

    Thanks so much!

Utilize the single rider lines where available. Best part about going by yourself is that if you want to hit up a particular attraction, you don't have to worry that someone else in your party won't want to do it. I also tend to take more pictures when going solo. Not selfies but more landscaping type photos.

        Thanks you guys!!!

I'm a pretty outgoing person, so I feel like I'll probably make friends while in line 😁

I think I wanna try to do stuff that's different from what my grown kids and I usually do. That way next time we all go, I can have new experiences to share!

It will be fun for sure!

Stay until closing. I once rode on Pirates and Indy.... has both vehicles all to myself! If there's nearly no line, you can ask for it.

As others have said, use the single rider line where available, Indy for sure. I've been going by myself on my birthday for years. Go on whatever you want, as many times as you want. Eat the food you want that your SO won't let you (corn dogs!) whenever you want. Stay up past your bedtime, watch the parades/shows that the family doesn't want to stand for.Strike up conversations with the people around you in line, they are as bored standing in line as you are. You probably won't make any life-long friends, but you'll probably hear some interesting stories. A word of caution though, be careful about striking up conversations with unaccompanied minors, their parents may not always understand. I once had a father threaten to punch me out because I was talking to his son when we got off a coaster (the son was riding the coaster by himself and we were seated next to each other, so we talked about all of the coasters we had ridden). If it is your birthday, or even if it isn't, get a birthday button from city hall, they won't ask for any proof. It won't get you anything special, but cast members and other people will wish you a happy birthday by name. And most importantly, just have a great time by yourself.

Get there for rope drop, and then move quickly for your first several attractions. You can easily hit four or five of the most popular attractions before they get crowded. Once it starts getting busy, slow down, and savor the details. Hit the less popular attractions that usually don't have much of a wait, such as Tiki Room, the Mark Twain, Canoes, Railroad. Maybe shop a little or eat something.
Just enjoy going at your own pace.

For me solo trips are therapeutic. Take your camera find some angles of attractions and details to photograph! Sit on a bench and watch world go by. Utilize those single rider attractions and watch your day open up with possibilities!!!! Go on the Davy Crocket canoes since you know no one else wants to go on them 9 I love doing those!)! Take in the parks in slow motion because you are on your time!

On my last solo trip I was able to conquer all of the mountains in the first 90 minutes. It is a lot of fun to go solo as you are super flexible and can change your plans on a whim. Key things for me were to pack light (I took a cell phone, slim wallet and chapstick) so I wasn't worrying about hauling stuff around and I could move quickly through even the biggest crowds. Going solo also means that you are always able to find a good spot to squish in for parades and fireworks without waiting around forever.
The one thing that I did love was dropping into the Carthay Circle Bar for a drink and some snacks as it is a bar atmosphere there were lots of social people hanging about to chat with.

Thanks for all the great encouragement and suggestions!

My trip last week was pretty awesome! I did utilize single rider a ton and loved that I could go on whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. On top of that, both days were relatively low crowds!

I totally took more scenery pictures

I went to the Carthay Circle lounge and talked to some great people and bartenders

I slowed down and just enjoyed being there at times

But my favorite thing about being solo was being able to navigate through a crowd without worrying that anyone could follow me.....I could just go! 🤣

I highly recommend trips alone and will be going again myself!

Are you seriously asking "what to do at DL, by yourself"? Wow...why even go, if that idea has even crossed your mind?
