  • Trouble at the HoB?

I have had drinks and food at the Downtown Disney House of Blues but have never seen a show. I have looked at the show line up and it has an interesting mix of alternative, rock, Hip Hop, and 80s (oddly enough, not a lot of Blues). Some band I would think would draw a questionable crowd to a Disney property (however are not unusual for the other HoBs line up). I am curious if anybody knows if there has every been any trouble or big fights at the House of Blues at Disneyland's Downtown Disney?

I'm not sure I understand the question. I think what you are trying to ask, is does hip-hop and other 'non-blues' act draw violent, thugish people.

If it helps any, I enjoy hip-hop a great deal, I have never been arrested, I hold a bachelors and masters degree, and I work as a professional crisis therapist. Just to give you an idea of a 'hip-hop' person. So I guess I am saying if a group I liked was at HoB, like Kanye West, Mos Def, etc. I would be there. I think the biggest crime I would commit would be to use a fastpass that is expired......

So, I guess my point is, it's not a good idea to paint with a broad brush and generalize people based on one aspect.

      Good times!

Yes, but not NEARLY as many as at HOB Sunset. They've been shut down a few times in the past.

^^ I'm not sure if it was just a "Hip-Hop" statement. Bad Religion has played there, along with ALOT of other Metal and Punk bands. I'm not sure accusing somebody of making blanket statements about people who go to Hip-Hop concerts is the right thing to do.

I have gone to ALL KINDS of concerts from Hip Hop, Punk, Classic Rock, even stuff like Elton John. You get bad elements at all of them. Period.

Back to the question, I'm sure there have been problems. But overall most people who go to any kind of concert are pretty well behaved.

My step dad went there to see Flogging Molly and said that there wasn't even any moshing. It was a well natured crowd.

I'm going to be going to see Tegan and Sara there on August 2. If you are a lesbian, come to Downtown Disney, because there will be a SEA of them there that night. I really want to hook up with a random girl that looks like a boy that night.

It's fun to walk by and guess who's playing based on what the people attending the show are wearing. I've never seen fights there but I don't go to shows that seem to attract a crazy crowd either. (Well, not crazy as in violent )

Wow, I would have thought there would have been a mob the night JC Chasez was there. I would have tried to rush the stage for sure. Ok no, I wouldn't have, but with all the girlies there surely a cat fight would have broken out!!!

I am sure that a fight is more apt to happen at Snoop Dogg than it is at Kenny G.

Hmm, that is a tough one... Kenny G with the long hair, or Kenny G with the short hair? It makes a huge difference.

The main difference, no matter who or what the act is or which venue it is, more often than not is how well the bar is doing.

HoB's prices usually keep the scum out, however where ever you find alcohol, you can find a-holes.

You'd be surprised at what people do at concerts. I used to work concert security and people were acting up no matter what kind of artist was performing. From Aaron Carter to Widespread Panic to Jaguares, all have their rowdy fans that will do anything to get cloe to their favorite artists. And as someone said alsok add alcohol in the mix, or other drugs for that matter and things can get pretty hairy.
Well, I think you're crazy, I think you're crazy, I think you're crazy, just like me.
