  • Nightmare before Christmas ride all year round?

How would you like a nightmare before Christmas ride/land? Sure there's already the HMH but thats only seasonal and it seems to be popular, so why not make a ride year round?- ok so that's not the reason I thought of this(to find a replacement for HMH) I just thouht that it'd be soooo awsome if we had a Halloween town or something.

now the practical idea(don't know where it could go-help me-)- It would be called Holiday land (like the secret land outside of DL a long time ago) and the entrance would be like the woods from the Movie
There could be a few entrances into different areas-Halloween Town and Christmas Town-and mabye the normal human world(that would be boring though) so mabye just Halloween town but inside Halloweentown it would be like the mermaid lagoon in that it's all in a wharehouse or enclosed in order to give the complete effect of being in the film. Im not sure as to what the rides would be but it would be cool enough just being in Halloweentown.

a few pics to get you exited

    (imagine the photo ops!!)

I think it's a great idea. That way we can keep the mansion for the die hards(my favorite ride) and have our (cake)Nightmare too!

As long as the new area uses minimal real estate in a remote location and keeps HMH permanently out of Anaheim, I'll be happy.

no thanks, there's enough nightmare overkill in DL as it is.

The whole holiday lands idea with the different doors sounds like an idea for a whole new park, if you ask me. an all burton park would actually be quite fun.

I enjoy and am impressed by HMH, but it just isn't as timeless as the original HM. Even though it's newer and I haven't been on it as often, I found myself wishing the original was available this past week.

Just based on that, I'd like to see Nightmare Before Christmas get its own ride.

A land based on anything by Tim Burton could be cool, but Halloween year round? It might work, but if the masses avoid it other than Halloween it would be a costly mistake. Worth the risk? Maybe...

Poor Florida doesn't have anything with the Nightmare Before Christmas characters. they should give them a Halloween town land to replace their Pooh playground and occupy the 20K Under the Sea area.

As for us... I would enjoy it a lot but don't think it fits in well with the scale of Disneyland... nor does it fit into DCA. I like Haunted Mansion's overlay ok

Really? Now, I normally try not to judge people based on opinions like this, but I'm having a real rough time of it right about now. Please please please...justify yourself...somehow!

I guess it's just a nice change of pace from the normal! And since it only comes so often it's highly anticipated... And honestly I haven't been on the regular version at DL in years! I rode it in WDW before the make-over! So I suppose I just like the HMH since I haven't seen the original in so long! I'm sure when it gets changed back to the original I will love it. (now that I'm closer)

Both versions scare me. But I love both. I prefer the Holiday version because you can see when the scary things will pop up... But then you can see their faces... And then there's Oogie at the end...

But in the regular version they pop up and scare me.

                    So... I like both. )

Re: Nightmare before Christmas ride all year round?

                      I love HMH, personally.
One of the biggest reasons I enjoy it (for those asking why we love it so) is how it utilizes space. It makes the normal version seem almost hollow... if that makes any sense.
I wouldn't say more than the original but kind of as it's own seperate entity.
I wouldn't want to lose it if they were to put in a new NMBC ride.

As a Nightmare fan, I love the idea of more of my fav movie.
Though I'm not 100% it could support it's own land (whoever mentioned a Burton themed park... now that'd be sweet!)
I really like the rumors about the dark ride coming out of WDW. The idea of Jack having created his own ride for the guest may not be cutting edge, but it fits the character very well IMHO.
I dunno, there was also some concept art floating around a while back for a different NMBC ride (anyone know where that is?).

Re: Nightmare before Christmas ride all year round?

I think a Nightmare Before Christmas ride would be a great idea. It would make for a pretty fun dark ride, but I'd like to see something a little more elaborate or slightly different than just another standard dark ride. Maybe if it sported some innovative visuals and modern effects it could be something pretty special.

Either way, I think it's a fun and different franchise and the more spooky attractions, the better. Plus, then Happy Haunts could finally reclaim their home for the entire year.

I would love a NBC attraction for the soul reason that you could have Oogie Boogie costumed character do meet and greets near it

I like HMH but a full Nightmare Before Chritsmas Ride would be awsome!

                                        TOTALLY agree.

I LOVE NBC ... absolutely LOVE it. When the movie first came out (because I LOVED Frankenweenie) we had to see it. The closest theatre that was showing it during it's initial release was like 25 miles away. We didn't care.

But now ... Jack is EVERYWHERE, and therefore, just not as cool anymore.

Most people don't realize it, but the original movie only made like $50 million. It was so much cooler to like NBC before it got so popular. LOL.
