Disneyland has to allow me to smoke because I have a doctor's note.

Yeah, my plan to smoke a cigar. Not exactly a felony, not exactly worse than some parent changing a dirty diaper on a Disneyland bench. Yeah, that happens everyday too.

We are talking about smoking, a personal choice. Nobody is harmed by my smoking who is not close enough to inhale it. What ever happened to a thing called liberty?

Again, we are talking about smoking. How does "character" play into something so inconsequential?

Rules are made to be broken. It says that over the entrance to the Pirates of the Caribbean LOL

You should do stand-up comedy on Main Street while Lincoln is down. Beats those movie previews.

        • After reading most of the posts here, no wonder humans are a flawed species.

I don't smoke or drink, the good thing is that children and animals won't get second hand smoking anymore in the parks, bu the bad thing is that smokers cannot get their fix or break in the parks anymore.

Smoking may be better than drinking, but it is still bad for your health and well being in the long run. Smoking can age you and damage your lungs, but at least it won't make you drunk. As being drunk is worse than smoking. Drunkenness can alter one's personality or change them into a violent monster.

Smoking has negative long term effects for the smoker but effects those nearby immediately.
Drinking may have negative long term effects, but depending on the person, short-term effects may vary considerably.

I commend Disney for getting rid of the smoking areas -- what the true motive is, we'll never know -- but as for drinking, that's just too profitable for Disney to pass up.

The irony of course is that nobody needs an amusement park. In the big scheme of things amusement parks are a choice, as should smoking and drinking. We supposedly live in a free society, I hear a lot about people and wanting to protect their individual "choices"; why is smoking and drinking legally such a problem for some other people other than some people I guess need a nanny type situation to assure everything is a ok.

Walt smoked and it probably killed him--- his choice. But if Disney really cared about "healthy living" they would stop selling soda pop, ice cream, burgers and all of that stuff too. You people who think that this smoking ban is just to be "more healthy" are being fooled; it is just an operational decision to use the smoking space to generate more or different revenue. Probably going to put plush toys and cheap made in China chotchkies for sale in the space, not to mention less smoking means less janitorial staff to empty 5 more trash cans.

I'm going to smoke, I hope other join me in protest.

                    Well said. Indeed.

I think I do a fine job. At least I know what my friends post, and I try not to contradict them, calling things they posted as DUMB.

                      • If you go to Disneyland Paris, about 30% of the people there smoke/vape! Not just in the designated areas- everywhere in the park. And, there was no complaining from anyone either. I guess they're a bit more liberated out there

Smoking is a bit more common, and tolerated, in Europe.

Banning smoking from all areas is un American and it is stupid because now people will just go smoke inside the restroom stalls and create even more problems. Telling us there is NO place inside the park to allow smoking is ridiculous. Walt Disney smoked everywhere it the park.

Looking forward to the OCRegister video of you being escorted from the park. I'll even pay for a subscription, Professor.

Maybe you can cite to multiple studies showing that soda pop, ice cream and burgers are all major carcinogens.
