  • Disneyland closure possible on Dec 26th?

    Hello!
Does anyone have any experience with Disneyland closures on the day(s) after Christmas? We're bringing my brother-in-law's family of 4 with us for Wed thru Saturday, right after Christmas. Driving over from Phoenix... arriving Wednesday late afternoon... and wondering if would be a "waste" of the additional $20/per for them to buy a 4-day PH (online) versus the 3-day PH...especially if they close the park (DL of course). We could still enjoy the DD atmosphere for the evening.
    Thanks for any input/advice!

Why would Disneyland close on 12/26?

If you're ever in question about Disneyland's park hours and schedules, you can enter the dates of your visit at www.disneyland.com and it'll spit out all the info you need.

Disneyland never closes. It's open 7 days, 365 days a year. 366 if you count leap year. I think.

I think you are actually asking about when Disneyland stops allowing entries when the park becomes "full". Since it is a holiday week there is always that possibility.

If they do stop allowing entries, this usually happens for a few hours during the afternoon. So it may depend on how "late" you are planning on getting there, and if they even needed to restrict entries at all that day. If they did then they may either have already lifted the restriction, or will do it shortly after you arrive.

There is so much going on....parades, fireworks etc...even if DL isn't letting anyone in when you arrive you can always check out DCA. Its worth the $20 bucks. Plus after the fireworks at DL everyone pretty much heads out, then you can get back in and on some rides in the last couple of hours, they are open till midnight. You would be surprised how much you can do in the last couple of hours. Just keep heading toward the back of the park post fireworks, or maybe even watch them from Small World. Late nights after the fireworks are a great time to be in the park esp. this time of year. Have fun!

Meh. They're "wasting" money going to DL already. Another $20 per won't hurt.
(This is a marginal analysis that many people don't understand. That's why "wasting" is in quotes, meaning the big decision is whther to go to DL or not in teh first place, and the extra costs once that's decided should not be as indecisive.)

Plus, they can always leave a day later. Get $20 worth of DL on Saturday morning before heading out. Go commando-style until noon.

Well, in the 80s the park closed two days during the week. That's something Wikipedia doesn't tell you.

Yes. When I was a kid it was always closed one or two days per week. Usually mid-week.

joke would be on you when you show up to a closed park.

                            you are goofy.

I believe the park was also closed after JFK was assasinated. I could be wrong.
