OK, so hypothetically speaking ...

Say you put your name on the Club 33 membership list 10 years ago ... you were in a position that would enable you to purchase a corporate membership should it become available.

Fast forward to the present: Your company has gone belly up (mortgage implosion), and you receive the letter in the mail...we want you to be a member of Club 33!

D'OH!!!!

What would you do? Any creative ideas out there? Hypothetically speaking, of course.

Really? I'm gonna try that for reals! how can I do it? So say you were in a position that would enable you to purchase a corporate coupon or maybe ev en your grandma knew Walt, or somrething like that...well maybe she knows Roy, So what if you said that he said it was O.K. too sign up and its O.K. because I know where he used to live so basically you could even say, " Hey I'm his neighbor" and hypothetically you could get a free pass to the Enchanted premier because the movie was "Made" by Walt Disney, not some computer generated computer program that was made by a computer program that was shiped by boat across the Pacific ocean, which was actually fortunate to have actually made the trip because of the rise of catagory 3 to 4 stormes that hit the pacific quite regullary now that global warming is an actual "Fact" But it got me to thinking about the penguin movie because it was really good and it was about penguins that lived on ice, (Disney didn't sponsor the flick) and it made me wonder...what would it be like if humans did'nt have live birth, and instead women laid egg's, and the males had to help incubate the eggs.. and maybe during easter we would draw instinctual drawings on the shell. And quite possibly the shell could become some sort of sexual fetish, being used as a prop or "tool" for future mating rituals! But one thing is for sure Disneyland needs at least one more "E" ticket ride because it has obviously become in need of such a ride regardless of weather or not penguins survive in the near futur, you see the real problem is not weather the ice melts but more about the migration of the penguines, then and only then can they film a sequal!

Since it is $25K you sell 25 shares of it at $1K each. Each person that gets a share gets to use the right to club 33. Or make it more shares so less money more members. Just a idea, if this were really happening!

Only problem then is that the "member" is responsible if the shareholder invites 20 people to Disneyland and doesn't show up for their Club 33 reservation. The member gets charged the cost of admission for each of the 20 guests.

I'm no authority on this, but it's my understanding that memberships, both individual and corporate, as well as places on the waiting list, are non-transferable. That language was very clear in the recent confirmation of interest letters sent out to those on the waiting list. With that in mind, there may be rules prohibiting the structuring of financial arrangements with people or corporations other than those specifically invited who have waited. I suppose if your turn comes up for a corporate membership, you could add officers or partners to the corporation and purchase additional cards for those individuals, and there are limits and additional costs for each card. But I don't think it's permissible for the prospective member to take money from anyone else for either membership or reservations. Again, that's just my speculation.

There have been threads about this kind of idea before...the "sharing" of a Corporate or even an Individual membership in Club 33. It is my understanding that it has even been attempted a few times as well.

Keep in mind though that Club 33 does not permit the sub-letting of any type of membership level (Corporate or Individual). In other words, it is against policy for a Member to sell interest in, or co-op their Club 33 membership. And if it's a Corporate Membership, it is expected that the corporation not receive any form of renumeration for the issuance of Associate Cards. Also just FYI...Associate Cards are to be issued only to employed "executives" of the company, and never to individuals outside the employ of the company. The Club rules also state:

A Corporate Membership and each Associate Membership are subject to termination in the event of a company's merger, dissolution, reorganization, termination - or as provided in the rules herein.

There is also the verification process that the Club subjects Corporate applicants to (such as Articles of Incorporation and credit checks such as current Dun & Bradstreet).

There are other pitfalls even if you were to initially succeed. Usually one of the people that "participates" gets boastful at some point and it leaks out (via that person or one of their guests) that the membership is being financially shared or sub-let if you will. One of the stories I heard about a Corporate Membership being revoked involved one of the participants getting ticked-off at the person managing the "group"...and after he "quit" the group...he finked directly to Club 33 about what was going on...and that lead to the revocation of the Membership, and of course all the related Associate Memberships tied to that Corporate Membership (and possibly the loss of the hefty initiation fees).

So on the surface it may sound like it's possible to do such a thing...but in practice you may find it much more difficult to both set-up and maintain.

Personally...I wouldn't want to mess with anything like that. I think I would feel like I was cheating in some way with my "membership." And that would take some of the enjoyment out the experience, for me. Not to mention the fear of the possibility of being revoked at any time, and the possible loss of my investment. I just wouldn't want to risk it.

Besides...since the company that was "invited" has since gone belly-up...I would think the invite was now invalid.

MiceChat wouldn't need a Corporate Membership for that, if that's what they wanted to do. Any membership level permits Guest Reservations. The issue would likely have more to do with what GoBotDotCom wrote above:

As well as the other issues and actions that Guest Reservation parties might have on the Member.

First, they do no such credit checks. This is a cash business and no credit is ever extended. You will be required to have a credit card on file and you can elect to have the charges put on your account AKA "Do Not Present" meaning do not give your guests a bill.

Second, your are certainly free to keep your company alive (bring it back prior to accepting the terms and conditions of the Club 33 membership) and give associate memberships as the company sees fit to those who are employed by the company.

Third, never post about it again on MiceChat (or anywhere else) as certain people are predisposed to run and tell Club management everything as a way to elicit favor.

So... say you have a corporate membership already and your company goes belly up... Are you then allowed to become an individual member or would you have to reapply and wait 8 to 10 years for your name to come up?
