  • DCA’s 20th Anniversary!!

Could we expect to see a celebration of DCA’s 20th in 2021 and how far it has come? What will Disney do?
The Never Spoken Dedication at the Opening of Pixar Pier:

The world you have entered was created by The Walt Disney Company and is dedicated to California—not a place on a map, but a
state of mind that exists whenever people seek nostalgia and wonder and imagine, a place where the original California Adventure vision and atmosphere are brought back to life by Pixar's vibrant color palette. We invite you to travel to a bygone era of the early 2000s at California Adventure and explore a land that never was, and always will be.

No, unfortunately, they didn’t do anything for the 5th, 10th or 15th, I doubt the 20th would be any different. They probably wont acknowledge an anniversary until the 25th, plenty of time to do big things between now and then.

      Hypothetically DCA could get:
      - a new parade
      - Updated WoC
      -20th park decorations

In my opinion, they should 'plus' a ride for the anniversary, with the obvious choice being Grizzly River Run. It is one of the few opening day attractions to never been updated. Add new water effects, lighting, projections and add animal AAs finally!

Also, consider that the Avengers Campus should be fully completed with the new E-ticket by then. It seems like the perfect time to celebrate whats probably the best decade of improvement in a Disney park. Then again, they will probably rely on Avengers campus advertising and not need a celebration to get people in that park.

Disneyland Resort Anniversaries are rarely met with a new ride. IMO, it’s wishful thinking that an E-Ticket will be ready by next year, I’m thinking more along the lines of 2022/2023.

Disney's wasting no time cashing in on the park's troubled past, but should the appropriate celebration year be 2022, since that was when DCA had its grand reopening? Who knows what Disney's official position is on the matter. My guess is this park won't see a birthday celebration until it hits 50.

I remember going to Disneyland 30th anniversary as a teenager somewhere I still have the sweatshirt. Lots of white/pink/orange & purple I assume Disneyland did 20th anniversary would not be surprised if they did something for the DCA's 20th. They have tried to bring DCA to a more formiddable offering but I think it will always struggle based on it's poor lopsided layout that I have heard complain about with having to traverse so much of the park to get to the key attractions with few shortcuts or options. I know several friends that love Toy Story or the Incredicoaster but unless they plan in riding both in a row they seldom venture over their as they feel it's a long haul for a single ride. etc. etc. Yes they are being lazy but these are fit athletic people that want to take a break on their days off not walk around a fake lake to get to one ride.

Groundbreaking has yet to happen for the Avengers Ride. As MAC1986 mentioned, the earliest we will likely see it, is 2022.

I’m thinking no birthdays for DCA ever...don’t start something now because anything of a celebration will be kind of half hearted or slapped together...I find no celebrations refreshing actually...
I am old. But still love Disneyland.
