  • [Question] Rise of the resistance... dialogue with cms?

I was watching a youtube of rise of the Resistance
    looks amazing!

noticed some comments by a viewer talking about the cms dialogue with guests, like "I felt sorry for the cms, they were trying to engage the guests and no one was responding"

I know only one person who has been on ROTR, she said she was so overwhelmed, she was not aware of the cms interacting

curious, what is the dialogue, "get in line rebel scum"?

and if so, suggestions by those involved in responses to support the scenario?

all I could think of was "this are not the guests you are looking for" with Jedi hand swipe... ;-)

would have less chatty friends dismayed by pretending to ask them about the Imperial medial plan and retirement plans... "I hear the Death Star workers had a great profit sharing"

while I'm asking, anything needed to know to get the best from the attraction? looks pretty straight forward from the video...
one thing I noticed from those on the youtube, I will not be walking around looking at my iPhone...

A First Order officer CM tried to recruit my six year old daughter to the FO. I responded: "They do like them young". The CM agreed with me and went on a big speech about the upside of kidnapping conscripts young. She offered my daughter rewards for telling her all her father's (me) secrets.

My son was pretending to press buttons on one of the fake panels and the CM ordered him to stop. He kinda did a baby yoda and looked back at her but then resumed pressing LOL. She made him move to the other side of me before heading into the interrogation room.

While boarding the actual ride,I asked the resistance CM if this droid was going to take care of us, she responded that she programmed it herself.

When we unloaded, a resistance CM asked us if we kept the resistance base location secret. I told him we told the imps it was dantooine, which earned me a thumbs up.

I want to see what happens when you tell the FO CMs that the rebel base is on bakara (thus essentially betraying the resistance). I bet they dismiss it as misinformation. I'm sure the CMs get a lot of the same schtick when guests do engage and have canned answers mostly ready on top of good improv skills. Still waiting for that first video of someone getting a FO CM to break character and laugh or giggle, etc.

Within RotR, the FO knows that the resistance base is on Batuu, that's why preshow Rey tells you the base is no longer safe and must be evacuated, and why the FO ships are in orbit above Batuu and ready to capture us in the 2nd preshow.

I think RotR is amazing, but for all the talk about how SWGE fits into SW canon at a specific point in time, the "story" of being in SWGE and being on Batuu doesn't make any sense when you consider the events of RotR. When you walk around in SWGE, are you experiencing Batuu before or after the events of RotR? Either way, there are continuity issues.

This is awesome. I'm often just a bit too tired or unprepared to interact at a themed level with CMs, but I love the immersion that comes with it.

Right, but Rey asks us to keep the secret base on Bacara a secret. I agree that the whole thing doesn't quite make sense timeline wise, especially since it's supposed to be between the events of The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker. If that were the case, the secret base should be on Ajan Kloss, Kylo Ren should be without his helmet, and Poe Dameron's Black One should not be in the queue.

My guess is WDI just probably figured close enough and called it a day. Better to appeal to what makes this imagery iconic than sacrifice that in the name of narrative consistency as long as it's only minor details. Walk-around characters are apparently a different story, though.

          Suggestions:

Is it true Kylo Ren has a thing for Jawas?

How do you dispose of human waste on this ship?

Do you use fabric softener on those uniforms?

Hey, I'm looking for a garbage compacter, can you take me there?

These floors are pretty squeaky - have you guys ever tried wearing bunny slippers instead of those boots?

Hey, did your mom buy you those sissy shoes?

Shh, don't react, but I think your partner over there is a changeling.

Do you wanna buy some death sticks?

He doesn't like you...I don't like you either.

Is it true that you sleep with a giant poster of General Hux over your bunk?

Don't look now, but there's something on the bottom of your boot. I think it says Andy.

Hey, where do you guys keep the bodies? I looked in the trunk but I didn't see anything.

Hey, I heard a rumor that General Hux is secretly a member of Twilek interpretive dance troupe, is that true?

Blink if you need me to save you.

Hey, I've heard that Kylo Ren can see you when you're sleeping...and when you're awake...and he knows if you've been bad or good...is that true?

Hey, have you heard the one about the tusken raider and the bantha? It was a real drag.

Somebody told me that if you take your hat off you'll turn into a porg. Is that true?

Hey, I was walking on the beach the other day, and I saw this log, and I turned it over and there was a little stick, and I was like "Hey, that log had a child!"

Hey, this place looks really, really secure. Has anybody ever escaped? NO?!? So is this where they keep Song Of The South?

I believe the First Order isn't aware of where exactly or fully if there is a Resistance base on Batuu, just that they are looking for one in the general area and pressing the residents for information based on leads they have (Finn and the others probably discovered this after infiltrating the Star Destroyer we are rescued on). I believe Rey and the Resistance order an evacuation because things are getting too close for comfort and it is a precautionary measure. Hijinks ensue and I think you can take your time on Batuu before/after the attraction in either way. Assuming before the events of the attraction, Kylo and the First Order are still looking for clues to a possible Resistance base in the area, if after, then things also make sense because the Star Destroyers above Batuu are crippled and you're free as rather fresh recruits to disappear back into civilian life among others in Batuu. It also makes sense that Hux would take whatever forces they have (he does control most of their military, after all) to chase after the actual bulk of the Resistance forces that have just arrived rather than go after a handful of relative nobodies that are probably long gone by now after stealing First Order escape transports. Kylo probably disagrees (again, makes sense since he and Hux seldom do) and figures Batuu is still worth investigating and why you still see him.

But you're right to an extent because when experiencing attractions or other moments in time in the land, you kind of just have to accept that you are part of various points in time inside of a larger story. If you're looking for full, perfect continuity, it wouldn't make much sense that we'd be able to hop right back in line and have the exact same experiences over and over again at either attraction.

To this threads original purpose, I tried to tell several First Order CM's that this is clearly all a big misunderstanding and that I had powerful Gungan (lol) friends who wouldn't like it if they heard what happened to me. Their responses were great, very in character and they had no hesitations in reminding me that I had chosen the wrong side of the current galactic conflict.

Massively Multiplayer Online Games require similar timeline suspension of disbelief. Individual players move in and out of (and even repeat quite a bit) different sequences within a master story-line. There are even multiple outcomes of each player experience, but then there is one maser canon of the timing and story that gets adopted.
