  • News Spider-Man 'Stuntronic' heading to Avengers Campus.

Disney has officially teased today that the Spider-Man Stunt Audio Animatronic(AKA Stuntronics) is coming to Avengers Campus.

Formerly known as Project Stickman, Stuntronics is a new form of Audio Animatronics, where the AA figure can be thrown in the air and 'perform' stunts that would normally be hard to do.
As we revealed at D23 Expo this past summer, Imagineers are hard at work to bring to life an amazing new experience with Spider-Man at Avengers Campus coming to Disney California Adventure park this summer! Today I’m excited to share that guests

That's a really interesting video clip, though it is obviously hiding a lot.

I'm very fascinated by this stuntronic concept (and will morbidly await the youtube videos of the first time spidey crashes and burns onstage).

Considering the Pixar lamp's quick demise, and the problems that rides with complicated AAs frequently present, I have serious doubts that this will last, and some serious questions about safety protocols. Don't mean to be a Debby Downer (lol), but seriously: has there ever been an AA that never breaks/broke down?

Here is the YouTube video from 2018

Basically I imagine them using this in areas behind buildings and they launch Spider-Man from there away from the public with a net system beneath it.

Speaking of troublesome AAs, how is the Mr. Potato Head AA holding up?

Looks amazing. I just hope they do whatever is needed to keep it running. My guess is this thing would go off every 30/60 mins and if you blink you will miss it.

Looks cool! I figured the stunt animatronic video from a while ago would be for something like this. Happy to see them create something new like this for the upcoming area.

I imagine safety was definitely taken into consideration here. It's probably safe. I'm sure there will be designated launch and landing pads set up in the backstage areas of Avengers Campus that they use for this and I'm sure they will probably test for safe weather conditions in the same way they do fireworks (probably by letting a balloon up first). Considering this figure is meant to have a lot of movement while also being launched through the air, I can't imagine it weighs very much overall either. While that certainly is no excuse for it potentially landing on a Guest, I'm guessing it's built to not do any serious damage, just in case. Didn't the drunken pirate sitting on the bridge (who just returned), fall and land in a boat full of Guests? I could be remembering wrong. Definitely not excusable, but again, I'm certain they are confident in their safety decisions regarding this figure to launch it and I'm sure it will look awesome in person and I'll bet will be even more realistic if they can get some audio of Spider-Man shouting or talking to follow the figure as it moves (kind of like the ships passing over head in Galaxy's Edge).

Now (as others have said), there's the matter of making sure it remains in the long term.

Ah yeah, I meant the one on the Pixar Pier sign, which stopped working almost as soon as it was installed.

This looks like it would last 5 minutes without breaking down. And you know the Bob's aren't paying for additional maintenance of anything.

Was moving couple weeks ago when I last went over to the pier.

                        I AGREE.....
Just like a lots of others things that breaks..........It take a long time to be fix , or never get fix.
                        Specially with cut-back on maintenance!
                        imo
