Will they stick it to park goers again before the year is over? I kind of thought they might not do the last one but now that they have, I don't see them stopping. Chapek's greed knows no bounds. Plus it looks like the losses in China will continue for a long time so the money has to come from somewhere. Please vote and discuss.

Now that Disneyland has increased prices this year, will they double dip?
39No chance. Not going to happen.46.15%18Yes they will do it just before Avenger Campus opens.35.90%14I don't know when, but yes they will increase prices again this year.17.95%7Last edited by tarheelalum; 02-11-2020, 10:38 AM.Tags: None

Yes. The price increase today was fairly moderate. Last time, most APs saw hundred dollar plus increases...this time it was around $50 per pass. Taking into account the coronavirus, a new expansion, and typical Disney patterns I think we’re going to see another price hike before the end of the year...hopefully moderately so but you never know

I vote no, they won't. With five (5!!!) tiers of tickets, a lot of people with uncertain plans will just throw up their hands and buy the top-tier ticket. Same for giving as a gift. Sure they can wait in a long line to pay to upgrade a ticket to the appropriate level, but a lot of people won't do that. If they did, they'd never make it inside the park in time to get their Golden Time Slot.
So who needs another price increase? They've got one built into the plan.
All you can do is laugh.

I think it's likely that they'll raise prices again this year. The formula is clear: The higher the prices, the higher the revenue and the greater the attendance.
From the LA Times story "Disneyland raises ticket prices, breaking the $200-a-day mark":
"...In the latest earnings report for the Burbank-based entertainment giant, Disney reported an 8% increase in revenue from the division that included parks in the three months ending in December, with a 2% increase in attendance."
"Disneyland is often called a magic kingdom because
it combines fantasy and history, adventure and learning,
together with every variety of recreation and fun,
designed to appeal to everyone."
- Walt Disney
"Disneyland is all about turning movies into rides."
- Michael Eisner
"It's very symbiotic."
- Bob Chapek

Since DCA opened in 2001, resort prices have increased twice in a calendar year three times - 2004, 2010, and 2015. In each of those years, the second price increase was only for APs and did not affect day tickets. Also, the second 2015 price increase was followed by no AP increases in 2016 - the first year in more than a decade that APs didn't go up.
I doubt we'll see a second price hike in 2020.

I voted yes but I think they will do it end of summer once they can market the two new lands ( MC & SW ) that are "Now open". The smaller price increase seems odd to be honest so I figured they are splitting it into 2 tiers.
Is it just me or does it seem like it was not that long ago that we were all gasping at the single tickets finally crossing the $100 threshold seems like less than a decade ago?Disneyland Fan since the 70's

I think they put considerable thought in price increases. On one hand, if they don't raise prices or rise them too little, it;s sort of like leaving money on the table. They could have gotten more but didn't.
On the other hand, if they raise too much, some people (especially the high-profit tourists) will elect not to visit and they'll lose revenue.
Of course, it's simply not possible to hit it exactly but they come pretty close.

I'm under the belief that this price increase is to prepare for Avengers Campus, and the last one was for SW:GE (the whole package, despite ROTR not opening on-time). A double-dip feels a little too cheap by Disney standards, especially when the overall park has been not in the best shape (cough Tomorrowland cough).

But I one ,that think Disney will raise the price again later in the year......
like this summer when Avengers Campus -opens at DCA..........
This price increases,is because Disney have TWO resorts down in Asian.
*Note WDW ticket price also went up !Soaring like an EAGLE !

Imagine two parks sitting idle for MONTHS possibly. I don't think that's ever happened in Disney history.

Yep......this is first in Disney history and HUGE hit............
PS:
I do think Disney is being careful ,how high they rise the price
for they do not want kill off the "The Golden Goose's"
which is Disneyland and Walt Disney World !
Disney is testing the water~~~~~~
But if they think ,they can rise it again, this year - They Will !
