  • AP Upgrade Question

    Hi.
I've read all the threads on AP upgrades, but can't seem to find an answer to my specific question, so I'd appreciate any help.

We're planning on visiting Disneyland and DCA over Christmas. We've purchased a 3 day hopper pass. My question is: will they allow you to upgrade to a Deluxe AP, when you're in the park during a blockout date?

    Thanks!

    Re: AP Upgrade Question

I'm going off memory here, but I seem to recall if you buy the AP on a black out date you are allowed in that day. I'm pretty sure you can upgrade the ticket on black out days.

Yes, you can. (at least we did just that in the past for one of the kids)

As long as it is while the 3 day'er is still valid.

      Enjoy!

Redeemed our Deluxe AP's this Thanksgiving (a blockout day) and all was well. You will enjoy it. We've only used it that one Thursday so far, but knowing we had APs REALLY took the stress out of trying to get as much done as possible in 1 day.
        Congrats!

          Re: AP Upgrade Question

You can upgrade at any time until after closing on the third day, which is why you want to visit the AP Processing Center sometime during the day - after closing, the ticket has no more value.

And when you are already in the park on a regular ticket and you upgrade, the blackout day doesn't apply for that day - but it does for the rest of the term of the AP. Which is why you might want to wait till the end of the visit if you are only going to get the Select or Deluxe passes.

But if you are going to go for a Premium, do it now to get the discounts and the parking. Blackouts aren't an issue.
