  • The Future of Avengers Campus

I see they've resumed construction, but I have my doubts that the new addition to California Adventure is "coming soon." Since the whole land is practically built on character meet and greets, I would think that Disney may reassess opening this land up as soon as possible. Not to mention, Avengers Campus is supposed to draw crowds, and to have a grand opening during a period of limited capacity feels like a wrong move.

What do you think will happen? Will they open Avengers Campus in summer of 2021?

I know many here are not excited about a Spiderman ride...but that thing is going to have longggggggggg Waits for a while after it opens.

Spiderman is a HUGE hero and people also like Toy Story Mainia, so while yes the Dr Strange stuff and Ant Man restaurant wont be getting at full use the Ride will so I'm sure it will open my guess is early 2021. But they are in no rush now.

People just want to be back now and having Halloween/Christmas stuff up will excite people enough until early next year and then you open Spiderman/Antman Restaurant. The ride will get high reviews from normal guests and the restaurant will get sooo much free advertisements from the bloggers.

As for Phase 2, that I could being pushed back. The ride we have heard rumored is another huge E ticket and really don't need that for a few more years because attendance will be low. But even then think the ride would have come out at 2023 at the earliest so maybe add another year and the Avengers ride will come out and by then we will easily be back to "normal/new normal"
    Happy Halloween!!!

The land will get to see the light of day, but not likely this summer. Summer's end at the earliest. I think Web Slingers will open before the land does.

I think the land will get criticism upon it's opening. Unlike Galaxy's Edge, Avengers Campus has been built cheap in size and scope. I don't think DCA's park boundary was even expanded.

This is a disservice to Marvel and it's fans(like myself), who expect better than a land that just adds a ride, restaurant, a vague entertainment offering(s), and shops. That's it?

Then, there is that Unnamed Avengers E Ticket Ride... (And here I thought Infinity War was the saddest thing to come from Marvel )
This ride has suffered from Development He11, where Chapek could not agree with WDI proposals. And thus it's not opening with the land. Nor, has it even begun construction yet. I have a bad feeling, that the ride will get silently shelved for some time or completely, because of the outbreak.

The only positive side, is that, Josh D'Amaro can collaborate with Kevin Feige over the future of the land.

I’m quite certain that ride capacity is also going to be limited for the foreseeable future. So, even if Spider-Man opens this Summer, it would likely be at one household per ride vehicle, with extra time needed to sanitize after each use. I hate this but it’s most likely just the way things will have to be.

I for one rather them open a land like this in stages that have to wait years for it. The Avengers ride is no where near being done, why would i want to wait 2-3 more years for that when we could have a part one of the new land?

Until I ride the spiderman ride and it really sucks like the Antman ride over in China, it's really fine with me to see it in Phases.
          Happy Halloween!!!

I don’t think every new land going forward needs to be the size of GE or grow the park boundary to be good or successful. Replacing an area that was nearly all about off the shelf kiddie rides with something with more appeal to people over the age of 10 seems like a good idea.

I’m skeptical as well about the Spider-Man ride, but the land itself seemes to me like a better use of the space and an interesting concept.

In the Future, a Guest asks the following to a DCA cast member:
GUEST: Excuse Me, but where is the line for that Jet Ride?(points to Quinjet)
CAST MEMBER: That's not a ride.
                  GUEST: Oh....that's lame.
