I was recently browsing the hotels on Disneyland's website, and found myself wishing I could download all of the great photos they have so that I could use them as my computer's wallpaper. Well 'lo and behold, I found a way. This works with disneyland.com, disneyworld.com, and I'm sure any other of Disney's theme park websites under the disney.go.com domain.
Let's say I go to disneyland.com and head to the Disneyland Hotel Overview. Immediately we see a beautiful picture of Fantasy Tower. Wouldn't that make a great wallpaper? Let's click on the View Gallery button located at the bottom left of this picture. This will open up a gallery that will contain photos, and sometimes videos, of the place you're checking out. If we go past the introductory video, we find the same picture that we saw on the Disneyland Hotel Overview page.
Right click the image in that gallery, and choose to open the image in a new tab. Oh no! It's way too small for a wallpaper.
Let's check out the URL bar that's normally located at the top of your internet browser. In this case, the URL is:
https://cdn1.parksmedia.wdprapps.dis...?1579361982730
This may seem like a bunch of nonsense, but if you look closely you'll see that this image is being resized. All you need to do is delete the /resize/mwImage/1/640/360/75 portion of the URL, which should leave you with:
https://cdn1.parksmedia.wdprapps.dis...?1579361982730
Hit Enter, and WOW! We just went from a 652x367 image to a whopping 4096x2304 image. That's better than 4K resolution! If you tried to view EXIF Data on the smaller resized image, nothing would come up. Now with access to this original sized image, viewing the EXIF Data also reveals loads of information for any of you camera buffs. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any EXIF Data on the images over at disneyworld.com.
Simply right click the new big image, and save it. Voila! You have a high resolution image that's perfect for wallpapers and backgrounds. No - I'm not gonna walk ya through how to change your wallpaper, that's a whole 'nother guide in itself.
Unfortunately, this method does not seem to work outside of galleries. All of the Disney hotels have the View Gallery button located on their Overview pages and their Room Rates pages.
Hope some of ya'll find this info useful.
