I don't know if this has been put out there, but I've hear that all the Imagineers that were working on the Avengers E-Ticket project were let go in the layoffs. So it's probably dead and buried, which is a real shame since the ride was very close to construction beginning.

Unfortunately this will be the case for all projects that were not well into their construction phases. Hopefully once the parks division can recover the ride will be brought back to the table, and (glass half full) the time spent off the table will allow technology advances create a better ride for us.

On the plus side, it's probably better for it not to get built right now, since it would probably get slashed down to a shell of its potential due to budget cuts.
Hopefully this will be kept on the back burner until they can afford to do it right. DCA needs a mind-blowing innovative ride badly. The last thing they need is another hack job like Pixar Pier.

I'm not a crazy Marvel fan. Maybe I am a dollar store Marvel fan...? (I don't even know what that means. I just know I like Tom Holland.)
I'm not sure how the diehards would feel about it, but I think waiting to open Avengers Campus until late next year would be a good way to go. Or until 2022. I just can't imagine this land opening next year, and blowing minds, especially when there's a lack of characters and entertainment.
re: the E-ticket, it's a shame.

There could be additional reasons for the project getting shelved (if true).
If Avengers 5 is being planned, it's not likely to happen until 2023 at the earliest. Marvel's film slate has been delayed by an entire year from the epidemic and the renegotiation over Spider-man.
In addition, Chadwick Boseman's unexpected passing likely affected the ride. Part of the ride was supposed to take place in Wakanda."...but life without cake is no life at all"

The gleaming Quinjet that rests high atop the Avengers Headquarters building is bound to attract attention—maybe even some unwanted attention.
There are reports that the villain known as Taskmaster is plotting a break-in, and the Avengers are on high alert. Brave Super Heroes like Black Widow, Iron Man, Captain America and Captain Marvel greet new recruits and scan the horizon for potential threats.
If Taskmaster and his gang of mercenaries do appear, our heroes are ready to defend the Avengers Headquarters, which would surely lead to an action-packed confrontation on the rooftop and all over the building. You’ll definitely want to be there to see what happens.
Who knows, new recruit, maybe someday you will join the Avengers on their next adventure!"-The Disneyland Avengers Headquarters Attraction page as of Friday, October 23, 2020. No longer mentioning "an adventure to Wakanda...and beyond!" as it once did. My guess is we will get a ride, but maybe not the exact one they had planned.
The Never Spoken Dedication at the Opening of Pixar Pier:
The world you have entered was created by The Walt Disney Company and is dedicated to California—not a place on a map, but a
state of mind that exists whenever people seek nostalgia and wonder and imagine, a place where the original California Adventure vision and atmosphere are brought back to life by Pixar's vibrant color palette. We invite you to travel to a bygone era of the early 2000s at California Adventure and explore a land that never was, and always will be.

Correct me if I am wrong. But if a DLR project is that close, isn't the money already spent? I'm guessing they already "spent" the money for the construction / Imagineers. As part of a Public Service Announcement...Guardians Of The Galaxy...is abbreviated like this
Mission: Breakout
GOTG M:B
The colon is placed after the "M", not before it.
That is all. 😉

The Project isn't dead, for sure it might change and not come "soon" but they will build an Avengers ride before 2030 in DCA
Considering it was rumored to be in Wakanda but Black Panthers Actor passed away they would need to change members and where it is at most likely anyway
My guess is they will wait and use the same tech (and it will be cheaper by then) and use the new Avengers are the cast. Ms Marvel, Falcon (new Captain America), Captain Marvel, Dr Strange, She Hulk, shang chi and so on which will be house hold names by then.Happy Halloween!!!

Not necessarily. Money was obviously spent on the development of the project. However, any major ride still has to get greenlit by a certain head honcho(). As no actual construction had started, this project can easily get scrapped.

I've been reading more from epidemiologists and most of them are saying same thing: the virus will continue to have a major impact until at least 2022, even if a vaccine is released next year. I'm sure Disney is well aware of this reality.
If current restrictions see Disneyland closed for at least another year, I'd expect the entire resort to be going into survival mode for the next four years or so. That means no new E tickets like Avengers, no reskins like Splash, no new lands like Tomorrowland. Light entertainment upon reopening, sustained indefinitely. These conditions may not change even if the state eases restrictions.
I think Avengers Campus is far enough along for them to just complete it, albeit slowly. MMRR is more of a wildcard...I think continuing construction depends on how much money they've spent already. If it's a lot, they may just get it over with.
Also expect the AP program to be completely overhauled.
I wonder if the company, in its 65 year history of operating theme parks, did any R&D on pandemics, which have revealed themselves to be an achilles heal.
This is all speculation on my part, but I just don't see how the resort will return to status quo for a long time.Last edited by J. Thaddeus Toad; 10-28-2020, 11:05 AM.

Another new virus can could arrive any day or any month or any year.....and could easily be much more contagious, or even much deadlier.
I don't know if this is going to serve as a wake up call for the world's governments on just how vulnerable we still are. Hopefully it will. But I do suspect its eye-opening for companies like Disney, whom are probably forced into taking a hard assessment on how prepared they are for worse plagues, which are all but guaranteed.
Could this mean big changes for Disneyland? Historically pandemics have had major impacts on societies even after they come under control, and this may be no different.
To circle back to the topic, this may mean they pour money into "pandemic proofing" existing attractions and infrastructure rather than into new attractions over the next decade.

haven't been around the forums for a bit but I've been feeling bummed with all the people being let go. From what I've gleaned yeah there are no projects and what the world will be when they start work again is anyones guess.
Were I a betting man I'd say maybe 2023 we see Avengers Campus and Mickey co-open MAYBE but I'm curious how they'll really pace out these openings.
Then I'd mostly expect small tweaks and a very slow drive to pull entertainment back together in the following years before we really get to anything like an Avengers ride and at that point different movies could be big and maybe they'd jsut redo the entire campus :\
I mean I was feeling done with some of the trend focusing but on the other hand this was one that looked shiny and I was growing increasingly curious about :P
It does feel like the land would have an empty spot without its eticket though."We all have sparks, imagination! it's how our minds... create creations!"
