To bring this discussion around to Disney, Connery's cinematic breakout performance was arguably in Darby O'Gill and the Little People. If my memory is correct, this was the film that the Bond producers screened when they were evaluating Connery before casting him in Dr. No. I hope that Sean is sharing a pint right now with Darby and King Brian.

The story I read was that one of the producer's asked his wife to watch "Darby O'Gill" and see if Sean was sexy. He didn't see it. She gave him the greenlight and he was cast. I've shown that movie for years to my middle school students for years and it holds up well. They totally get the love triangle--always a fiction staple--and they love the leprechauns.
