OC Register: Downtown Disney and Buena Vista Street visitors face 2 new mask rules

"Disneyland has tightened requirements again on COVID-19 face masks in Downtown Disney and Buena Vista Street with an eye toward strengthening health and safety protocols.

The resort has updated two face covering policies to require masks for those who have received a COVID-19 vaccine and clarify the use of so-called clear face masks.

Disneyland and Disney California Adventure closed in March and are unlikely to return to full operation until spring or summer under COVID-19 health and safety reopening guidelines issued by the state. The Downtown Disney outdoor shopping mall reopened in July and DCA’s Buena Vista Street returned for shopping and dining in November.

Disneyland’s updated policy emphasizes that everyone must wear a face mask — even if they’ve been vaccinated.

Clear face masks can be worn provided the integrated transparent plastic panel is attached to the fabric on all sides using tight knit stitching. The clear face masks are designed to aid the deaf and lip readers...."

The only thing I wish they'd allow are gaiter masks since the normal mask people need to wear are too much of an issue for someone like me where my glasses are constantly falling off whenever I wear one. So sadly, the only type of masks I can wear are gaiter style masks.

I agree they are more comfortable for a long day as well. I see why they don't though as most are quite think and probably do not offer as much protection.

When the article listed "two face cover policy" I had to do something of a double take as I thought the implication was that disney was going to require double masking. Obviously that's not the case, but as you pointed out, if they were to at least suggest it, maybe offer paper masks to wear under the cloth masks people normally wear.

With the new strands of the virus sadly...masks will be here for over a year...easy maybe summer 2022 if we are lucky

Laugh it up. Some of the sarcastic comments on this thread, are part of the reason the parks have been closed for almost 11 months, and won't be open anytime soon. Perhaps if more people were responsible, and took recommendations seriously, rather than cracking jokes, the U.S. might be in a better position right now. But instead, it is what it is.
