  • Which new or refurbed attraction do you go on first?

During this downtime Disney has decided to refurb and create several new attractions for the park. If all these were completed by the time the park is fully open ( I know some will still be under construction but for this thread let's pretend they are all good to go when you arrive.) So out of the below list what do you go on first?

    - New Jungle Cruise
    - Spiderman Web Slinger ride
    - New Snow White
    - Mickey Run Away Railroad
    - Battle Escape ride (many didn't get a chance to go on it before park closed)
    - New Princess and the Frog Splash Mtn.

For me I really wanted to ride the Battle Escape ridge but never got a reservation so that would be a first ride for me.

I still haven't gone on Rise. I want to do that first! But from your list, I'm gonna go with Mickey ans Minnie Runaway Railroad though it's a tossup with Princess and the Frog. My husband won't go on either so I hope the single rider rumor is false.

If we arrive mid-day, we ALWAYS hit Pirates first. If the morning, Peter Pan. I can't see us changing up our routine.
Sorry I miss typed I meant the new Jungle Cruise.

I don't see it on the list, but I'm actually really intrigued to see what Disney has done with Snow White's "Enchanted Wish"

Princess and the Frog (it’s actually one of my faves). However, if we are speaking strategically (no boarding groups) I think ROTR (battle escape?) since that would probably have longer lines as the day moved on.

I hope some element of the "scary" adventures remain. Disney has done well with plussing most Fantasyland rides recently and Snow White's ending never did make narrative sense, but I want to see the ride's character preserved.

It's the same way I feel about the Jungle Cruise. I can see the opportunity, but I have my misgivings.

                In order of preference:

                1) Rise of the Resistance
                2) Mickey's Runaway Railway
                3) Princess and the Frog Splash Mountain
                4) New Sleeping Beauty Castle
                5) Snow White's Enchanted Wish
                6) New Jungle Cruise
                7) Spider-Man Web Slinger

I'm just not very intrigued by another "shoot things while riding in a vehicle" concept.

I still haven't been on Rise of the Resistance, and I tried three times before and failed. So if there's a way to easily get on it when the parks open and the hype dies down, I would definitely b-line for ROTR.

My second choice would be Snow White's Enchanted Wish because the lines for that ride have always been small (though maybe the modification will change that), and I want to see how much "scare" remains.

RotR would be #1 for me even though I've been on it once. It's just that awesome, and I can't wait to do it again, preferably with my wife this time. After that, Splash and Jungle Cruise because I'm excited for those changes. And after that... Mickey's Runaway Railway, then Spider-Man, then Sleeping Beauty and Snow White (either order).

I would make the case that it never needed to. The traditional dark rides don't follow a narrative in the usual sense, being more about atmosphere and impressionism. Even the name, "Snow White's Scary Adventures," doesn't line up with the ride, which includes material Snow White never experiences in the movie. It progresses naturally from cheerful scenes to mysterious ones to frights and jump-scares, leading up to a violent climax. The only issue is that the designers felt the need to then ham-handedly assure as that there was a happy ending (as if we couldn't infer that from the fact that it closed with the scary evil witch dying in a lightning strike).

Hmm, well, even though I think it's the least likely to actually be done when the park re-opens, it's Splash Mountain for me. I can't wait to see what the new overlay looks like. And then straight over to Rise of the Resistance.

For me it is DLRR, and then maybe Mark Twain Steamboat.

I'm most excited for Runaway Railway. I've watched ride through videos of the one at WDW and it looks so cute and fun like you're really in a cartoon.
ROTR is my second place pick, though it was already open prior to the park closure.

I'm least interested in the Spider-man ride because I don't really like the Marvel stuff and to date I have never been to DCA other than the recent Buena Vista Street shopping expansion.

Runaway Railway...because it's a new attraction...and the refurb Snow White...to see how it now is...
I am old. But still love Disneyland.

I agree. Ever since Marty Sklar took the helm of WDI, he'd placed their emphasis on a complete narrative throughline, and unfortunately Snow White never met that standard. The fait accompli leaves me curious to see if they pulled off that same feeling you describe while satisfying their story concerns, or spoon-feed us exactly what happens in the movie word for word.

The only reason this is my preferred first go compared to all the others is that (1) I've been on RotR, (2) I'm certain Disneyland will be open before they finish Runaway Railway and maybe even start the Princess and the Frog retheme, and (3) I've already ridden Midway Mania so I don't think I need to be first in line for Spiderman. Jungle Cruise, if it's finished, can be second.
