If you've actually had the good fortune to visit on Mardi Gras, let's hear about it! If not (I imagine most of us haven't; that's a weekday by definition and we have to work), let's hear about something else cool that happened in the classiest of Disney's themed lands!

I always like to talk about the time on Haunted Mansion that I stole Phineas's hat.

I was in my 20s at the time, and I went there with a whole gaggle of friends, and we were silly. So when I got Phineas as my HHG, I claimed I was stealing his hat. I got off the ride and told all my friends to admire my nice new ghost hat. Much later, in the evening, we hit the Mansion again, I got Phineas again, and his hat was missing. I don't know about you, but I think the ghost was playing a prank on me, teaching me not to joke about committing crimes!

What's the best/most amazing/most surprising experience you've ever had in New Orleans Square?

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE NOS at Disneyland. I haven't been to the real thing in 35+ years. Voltron was still hot back then, but I was constantly reminded not to inhale on eating beignets, because you could choke to death on sugar. Disneyland's is the superior experience because it doesn't smell like urine and vomit unless you stand over that one manhole cover by the bathrooms adjacent to the Mint Julep window...

I don't really have a story, but I do remember the first time I ate at Blue Bayou, you could still run there first thing in the morning to try and score a reservation. A few years ago I was waiting by the hostess' table when an older lady rammed into my ankle with one of those electric carts and then got all annoyed that the cast member was actually making sure I was fine and not attending to her trying to cut in front of me. Although the food quality doesn't necessarily match the price tag, I still enjoy a good lunch at Blue Bayou. It's such a nice break from the rest of the park.

My favorite NOS stories are all C33 related and 21 Royal related. Let's see, that time I had the ENTIRE C33 dining room to myself for my 40th Birthday AND I got evacuated between courses for a fire alarm. My second favorite for when I had dinner at 21 Royal and couldn't care less because it was so awesome!!!

It was 'wayyyy back in the day -- this would have been late 60s or early 70s -- listening to the Royal Street Bachelors do a set. As they walked off, I got up my nerve to ask their clarinetist (I later learned he was Jack McVea) if they could play a slow St. Louis Blues in their next set. He said they were wrapped for the day. But then without a word he began to play it. The banjo and bass joined him. A more soulful rendition I have never heard.

I still enjoy a good lunch at Blue Bayou. It's such a nice break from the rest of the park.

spent three quite good years of my life, working at the Blue Bayou...hard work, some days not so good...but it was my first job...lots of life lesson learned...
