  • Trying to get Disneyland or DCA reservations? Put your comments and experience here.

The Disney gods sprinkled some pixie dust on this poor, unfortunate soul, and I am now the lucky owner of a 3 day park hopper. The bad news is that I will have to endure the reservation Hunger Games tomorrow.

If you are also planning on trying to get reservations, please share your experience here.

    Thank you.

The first of many problems I'm sure will come - I'm trying to link my tickets to the app or website, and both are saying

"We're having trouble getting ticket and pass information right now. Please try again."

The servers are already dying and it's the calm before the storm XD

I'm also getting reservations tomorrow. The weird part is, they are giving us 3 whole days before they open up ticket sales, so maybe this is a sign that we don't have to worry about days filling up?🤔 in a perfect world, an hour after it goes live all days will still be available!

I'm not so sure it's the servers. Prior to getting my current ticket, I tried to add some older, unused tickets that I had lying around. I knew they had expired, but I wanted to see what would happen. I got the exact same message you did when I tried to add expired tickets. I had no problem adding the valid, unexpired 3 day park hopper. I would try the app's chat feature to see if they can help. They open at 7. I tried it last night and I actually got a quick response.

I did consider it, but there's too much risk buying tickets from people you don't know. I was able to get my park hopper from someone who lives in another state. The ticket was purchased shortly before Disney announced its original reopening date in July of last year.

The "make a reservation now" button showed up in my app at 7:55. I hit it and was directed to a "Please Sit Tight" page on the Disneyland website. 8:02 and the queue still hasn't opened. Yikes :/

                    Update: Just got our reservations!

                    Some interesting things:
                    1. There is a separate "reservation bucket" for onsite hotel guests. There is a step in the process where it asks you if you have a hotel reservation, and if you do you have a priority reservation spot.

                    2. The only thing they do to verify California residency is asking you to agree to a checkbox at the end of the whole process that says "This party is no more than 3 households and all the people in it are California residents." It's no different from agreeing to those privacy agreements on every website ever, I foresee people gaming the system on this one...

                    3. You can only reserve 10 tickets at one time (I found this out because our group has 11 people in it lol - luckily we had logged in on two devices so we all still got in.)

                    4. There are not arrival reservation times (yet). On each day you can reserve on the calendar it has a section under the information for that day saying "arrival time", but right now every day just says "arrival: all day". That makes me think that eventually, they might have to stagger arrival times (kind of like what magic mountain is doing), but at first, everyone can show up at the Esplanade at 6:30 AM and force them to open the parks early to maintain social distancing in the esplanade haha.

                    5. Once you reserve your spot, you are sent a separate QR code to your account email address. The reservation isn't "stored" on your ticket. This probably means that we will have to scan both the ticket and the QR code for our particular day at the gate.

Friday Morning May 14th we will be walking down Main Street. Guys, we made it!

I thought it was pretty straight forward and simple. Minimal wait. Got in, got my dates. Voila! See you opening day!

Well, thankfully it sounds like a lot of people are not trying for April 30, so there's still hope Thursday for those of us who would like to go Opening Day. I'm still not expecting I'll get it, competing with who knows how many people from around the country, but at least there's a small chance.

I was able to get in on 4/30, 5/1, and 5/2. My tickets were linked to my app, so I had to use the app, which contradicts what Disney told me twice.

Right now, reservations are still available for both parks for the entire period that reservations are open.

I used the app. I had three separate windows open when the link first went live around 7 and then opened my app after 8 and I got in in less than 9 minutes and made reservations. I think the app is the best bet. Also it seems the queue is randomized so I would say don't stress about getting there an hour early to get your place. Like I said, I accessed my app way later than the browser and was let in much sooner.

Not sure if this has been answered elsewhere, but does anyone know if I buy 10 tickets, do all 10 tickets have to be the same tier? And when I make reservations, do they have to be on the same day?

Logged onto the site via desktop Mac, hit the 'make reservation' button at 8:10am, and was placed in a queue with over an hour wait. It actually only took about 10 minutes and it was my turn. It was actually much quicker and easier than anticipated.

Logged on at 10:30 this morning and it had all days available. So I booked myself on the 15th of May.

Out of State visitors are barred from Park Entry.
So only California citizens are allowed to pa̶r̶t̶i̶c̶i̶p̶a̶t̶e̶ ̶i̶n̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶m̶e̶l̶e̶e̶ reserve a park entry.

Do I think some nonresidents will able to sneak in? Yes. But I can seeing them enforcing a state ID check if outcry arises.

I waited in the queue yesterday for over 9+ hours only to close my browser when I left work... little did I know that they saved your spot in the queue... UGH. When I got home I saw that I had missed my timeslot during the drive home.

Woke up in the middle of the night/early this morning and decided to check the Disneyland app. My wait time was less than a minute. We were able to book two-day park hoppers and are going to be in the parks for my daughter's 5th birthday! (:
