Magic Key Day of Reservations Available!!

So I was just looking at the access calendar for Magic keys. (Imagine specifically.) And noticed today is available for both parks as of the time of this post! Has this been happening frequently or could be his be luck for whoever winds up to get one?!!

Something tells me they add an extra amount on the day of if reservations of all pass/ticket types are not where he wants them. Sadly this makes things difficult for families traveling in from any distance or making vacation plans as the gamble that day of reservations will be available is something that only the that are living close and willing to go on a whim will take advantage of which is the opposite of what Bobby Cut Slash said he would cater to. LL, G+ & MK's are all policies that simply hobble the magic and make DLR very undesirable for a huge chunk of previously loyal park fans.

With TODAY Disney as well Disneyland........
I have more concern for families traveling......expecting magic
And be Surprise to find out , there lots of disaportment

I actually went last night and the park was pleasant. I don't know what happened, maybe they added more reservations or maybe people just weren't showing up. Whatever it was, it was good to decide to go to the park and show up on the same day. Just wish we had more of that nowadays. Hopefully after the holiday season we'll be able to be able to just go more often.

So we have the Dream passes... and have reservations for tomorrow (booked them a couple days ago)... just wondering why tomorrow is the oonly day that keeps not filling up...

Any ideas? Am I missing something?

Seems like days open and close. last week 10/23 not available. A couple of days earlier this week , it’s available. Just like the restaurant reservations, come and come every day.
maybe people deleted “saved” days? And Disney algorithms add/deletes for forecasted attendance of various tiers of ticket holders?

In an ideal world, every available day would show as open!! In terms of how days open up on the calendar, I think everything that's been suggested is partially true - DLR dumps days that just aren't selling, and folks cancel their res in a "reasonable" timeframe so as to not forget and have it marked against their Key. As for those MK holders actively looking to book a day, it's a matter of patience, flexibility, and hope for that pixie dust!!!
