    News Disney vs. Fan Blog

    It appears that "WDW News Today" is getting under the skin of The Walt Disney Company. Reported over at Pirates and Princesses, "One of Disney’s bluechecked, verified Twitter accounts has come out of a nearly two year hiatus to… slam an unofficial Disney fan site?!"

    Ouch. Can't stand the criticism Disney?

    Excerpt:

    "The site, which has been very critical of the Disney Parks under current CEO Bob Chapek, posted photos of past Disney CEOs Michael Eisner and Bob Iger and tweeted 'We used to be a county. A proper country.'

    To which the long dormant Disney | ABC Photo account replied 'And where is the photo of Walt Disney? This is a terrible oversight. Walt Disney was a genius and truly loved America and the world. Please update your post!!'    "

    The YouTube channel, Clownfish TV, goes into the long history of the ongoing barbs.

    Tom of WDWNT says it so well in one of his videos about the Mr. Chapeks fascination with him:
    "You’re the CEO of the biggest entertainment company in the world. A man in a two bedroom apartment in Orlando should not make you feel inadequate. I should not even be on your radar. But I do love the fact that I do own some free real estate in your mind Bob."

      Not surprising. Disney management since Eisner's day has been notoriously thin-skinned about criticism and petty in its reaction. In 2017 the Iger regime banned the Los Angeles Times from advance screenings of Disney movies after it published a two-part series on the Walt Disney Company. The ban was lifted after a fierce media backlash.

      Last month, MiceChat was one of the fan forums blocked on WDW's WiFi.

        Chapek should be smart enough to not engage.

            Poseidon Entertainment also makes smart videos for Youtube (like the one the linked below) that criticize Disney.

            If you want more positive videos, AJ at DFB / Disney Food Blog & (usually) Molly at AllEars. AllEars also has a useful website with Disney restaurant menus: https://allears.net/dining/menu/

            There are other videos on Youtube about Disney parks that have nothing negative about Disney, but they seem to serve the company & seek favors from Disney (Is a free 2022 Star Wars Hotel stay the ultimate prize now?), instead of best serving Disney guests. Please correct me if I'm wrong about this -- I'm curious. Also, how much do companies/individuals make from these Yourube Disney Park videos?

            My favorite commentators are Dusty, Robert Niles, Mr. W., and journalist David Koenig.
