The sad part is that I wouldn't put this past them at this point. This has to be one of the most failed promotions in the parks history, and they actually extended it another year.
Recipe for disaster:
1. Take a world class resort, that has its own identity
2. "Cloud" the identity with your other properties
3. Identity lost forever.
While a can of Sprite clearly says "part of the Coca-Cola company" on it, it is still green, with its own logo and identity. Why Disney wants to take the immense value of all of their unique brands and make them look like one is simply beyond any kind of logical business thinking. One of those MBAs at Disney must have slept through Corporate Branding 101.
This Mark Twain picture really is a sign of the times, as while it was presented here in humor, it really is not that far off from the truth. I just hope that they don't see that pic and take it as a suggestion.
