  • Does anyone remember this heavily autographed litho (from 1999?)

I keep looking online, but I haven't seen another one like it - yet there are 300 of them!

I'm not getting rid of it, I still haven't framed it and need to. I bought it through the mail from Disneyland, signed by Tony Baxter, John Hench, Fred Joerger, Harriet Burns, Bruce Gordon, Don Edgren, etc. I was just curious if anyone else had one. I don't know what it's worth, don't really care that much - since it's something I want to keep.

It is cool, I'm glad it is in such good shape. I've moved so much, I'm just happy I still have it (unlike an autographed Ronald Reagan letter I had - really autographed, I don't know where that went).

That is amazing. I'd have it framed!!! Now that Bruce Gordon has passed away, I bet its value has gone up. That Ronald Reagan letter would be an amazing thing to have too.

Looks like Bob Gurr signed it too. The one that says, R H Gurr, I believe is him.

I definitely want to have it framed - I've never taken anything to be framed in my life, I have no idea how much it even costs. It's a beautiful litho, and I keep forgetting I have it. I have no idea what it might be worth, it is priceless to me.

I have quite a few autographs (more political than anything) but there are a number of Reagan autographs in the family so I may end up with another one eventually. I moved like 5 times in the past 6 years, so a few things got lost in the shuffle.

That would be cool, I couldn't read it! I actually just ordered a framed Bob Gurr litho from Apepen Publishing, so I can compare. Thanks.

Good person to ask is Opus1Guy. He knows more about Disney than anyone I've ever known! (And, I only know him from here, but, he's got vast knowledge!)

I hope he reads the thread.

This is the other autograph that I can't even make out - like Bob Gurrs!!!! I have no clue, and wasn't even expecting to get the names of those who I couldn't figure out. So thank you for that!

That's a great piece. I've never seen it before - but good luck tracking down info on it!

It really is! I've tried looking online for another one, no luck - I thought maybe someone from here had another. I wasn't even expecting help with the names, all this time I had Bob Gurrs autograph and didn't know it! It's really sort of unusual to get so many great names in one place, and I knew much less about Imagineers when I bought it then I do now. So I can really appreciate it more.

Thanks, I think so too! I think they had 2 different lithos, I MIGHT be wrong on that, though. It just seems like I had an opportunity to buy a 2nd different one. And it might have been a Disney Gallery event, but I just don't remember enough about it.

The date on the piece is 7/17/99 (I didn't even think about it, Disneylands birthday - I was there this year riding the Lilly Belle that day). I was at Disneyland a bunch of times during 98/99, but not that day - I ordered it over the phone and had it shipped (a friend from LA told me about it at the time).

Being that there are 300, it didn't seem they'd be completely scarce though!

I own this litho, Denise. In fact, the day of the litho signing in the Gallery, on DL's 44th birthday in 1999, will always be unforgettable for me. It was the day the Bruce Gordon Fan Club was officially launched, when Jason and Kevin met with Bruce during the signing. (The Bruce Gordon tribute article on Miceage goes into further detail about the litho signing: http://www.miceage.com/guest/gu111407a.htm. The photo of Bruce with the two of them was a still frame of video taken by me during the meeting. Imagineer John Stone is sitting to the left of Bruce, with Tony Baxter sitting to John's left, out of view.)

The signatures at the bottom of the litho, from left to right, are as follows:

John Horny (who drew the litho)
Don Edgren (who passed away one year ago tomorrow)
                                  Bob Gurr (R.H. Gurr)
                                  Harriet Burns
Fred Joerger (who passed away two years ago in Sept 2005)
John Hench (who passed away almost four years ago in Feb 2004 at age 95)
                                  George McGinnis
                                  Tony Baxter
                                  John Stone
Bruce Gordon (who passed away last month)

It's kinda sad to realize that four of the ten Imagineers who signed the litho have left us. Puts things in a different perspective. Seems like yesterday when everyone queued up in the Gallery courtyard to wait their turn at meeting with the Legends to have their lithos signed. Heck, even the Gallery is dearly departed, now that it's been converted into the Dream Suite.

Cherished and treasured memories of a different era for Disneyland, for sure.

                                  Thanks for sharing.

No, thank YOU! I am so glad I asked here, I meant to do it a while back. I figured that someone would know about it, and I'm really thrilled that you posted. I'm reading the write-up now.

I thought it had to do with a Gallery event, I'm not sure why I didn't fly out there for it - it seems I was going out every couple of months anyway for a while. That looks like it was a very special event, though I think it'd be hard to know now that so many had passed (if I'd met them). Especially Bruce Gordon, who was so young.

Thank you soooo much. It's really nice knowing the event it came from, and all the names associated with it. It was a big purchase for me then, but I'm glad I bought the piece. It's very special! I will miss the Gallery, that was one of my favorite places in the park.

That was from that great 44th...where the mountians were the center point of everything. Correct me if i am wrong but that litho, much like almost everything else they put out for that, had some type of wrong info on it. I can't recall if it was the opening dates of something or the elev. of some of them?!?!?
