It depends on how much you already know about Disneyland because the "Welcome" tour is geared for the first time guest. The tour has changed over the past several years, so it probably offers more than it used to.

On the tour, your guide will point out many park highlights, provide park tips and trivia, and also show you some basic services the park offers. The tour also includes riding a couple attractions by utilizing FastPass. Prior to FastPass, tours were required to wait in line. In my opinion, it's very good tour.

On the other hand, if you consider yourself a DL veteran and want to learn more about how Walt created Disneyland, you may want to consider the Walk In Walt's Footsteps tour.

I was already doing the Walk in Walt's Footsteps Tour and it will be my first visit ever. I'm a WDW vet, Disneyland newb, I'm excited.

I think this sounds like a good tour, so I can get the basics down.

When will you be coming out here? I so want to meet you!

As far as the "Welcome" tour- haven't an idea. Only first time guests are allowed to take it (I tried, but somehow, they knew... of course, the whole AP thing might be a tip off ), I believe.

The WIWF tour is excellent, although it has changed a bit since the last time I took it.

I'm sure you won't regret taking either tour!

I enjoyed the Walk in Walts Footsteps tour - I did it in July (7/17), and we had the chance to ride the Lilly Belle too. The Universal Studios backstage tour was amazing, I do recommend that if you get over there.

When are you going? I have plans for the end of March.

Yeah but I'm sure most MCers work during the week, so I gotta fill my time with something.

I am going in the month of June, with the 5-10th looking like the best option. After reading about the Gumball Rally and the Anabella Hotel I'm going to stay there because it looks so nice!

It will also be my first trip to CA so I don't know if I want to allow a few more days to see the sights or not, it will be just me so I will be able to cover lots of ground.

Have a great trip in March NB! I'd say take lots of photos but I know you will already.

                Re: Welcome to Disneyland Tour?

I would definitely go to see other things while there. San Diego is beautiful, La Jolla, Hollywood is interesting, the Reagan Museum in Simi Valley was incredible. There is a lot out there. Vegas isn't far either!

I haven't set my exact dates yet, but I'm going to the Apepen Golden Horseshoe event (helping with it too, so I want to get there a bit earlier than that). The evening is 3/29. It should be a lot of fun, and I plan to take lots of pics - I know you will too!

I loved the Candy Cane Inn, I would stay there anytime I can afford it (I will probably have to Priceline this trip, which is fine).
