  • California's Natural Wonders in DCA

I would like to see DCA divided into five areas:
The Entrance Plaza with it's Carthey Theatre and all
Hollywood (real Hollywood, not a backlot)
Paradise Pier (with the Victorian theme)
Desertland (not the name that should be choosen though, but this would be in place of Carsland. It would be a tribute to California deserts.)
A Forest like land (Where Soarin and GRR are, a land that is a tribute to places like Yosemite.)

DCA would be a healthy mix between the natural elements of California (desert and forest) with the man made (Hollywood and Pier). I remember a while back, a Micechatter suggested that Radiator Springs Racer be placed in an area called Desertscape. That would be a great idea. Radiator Springs Racers could thematically fit in Desertland, while leaving room for other non-movie attractions. There would be no worries about Desertland ever becoming dated, becuase it would be themed to an actual location(s), not a movie. A Forestland would give a strong sense of place in the Soarin'/GRR area. It could be made to look like a National Park.

If you do a quick search there should be a rather extensive writeup on Paradise Pier's lack of Victorian theme, and another on the lack of Sequoia or actual "forest" elements in the forest. The Hollywood area is interesting. Desert is where Soarin is... that fits mainly because planes need flat ground and some of the best flat ground is out in the desert.

I like the idea, but what would happen to Bug's Land. It's not really based on any California wonders.

well, that could go, or be left for the kids. It won't be too much of a distraction.

I personally would like to see a complete discard of the "california" theme..

The wonder that is CA's need to have lush, green lawns no matter what. And the bugs that live in them.

maybe instead of desertland, carsland should be called route 66 or something along the lines of that.
