  • Talking Characters at Disneyland

so we all know at WDW they have characters that are able to blink and move their mouths. Do you think we will ever get these types of characters at Disneyland? Also, I noticed in the "Dream Along with Mickey" there is no Pluto. Granted he does not talk, but do you think they will give him the ability to move his mouth and blink too or will he be left out? Do you think Chip and Dale will get the same treatment as Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy or will they not get the ability to talk.

Personally, I think it would be cool to see the characters talk, even if it is in just a parade. With the news that POD is heading to WDW, do you think the new disneyland parade will feature talking characters, or will we be short changed once again?

    What are your thoughts?

I don't consider POD moving to WDW news, but more of a rumor. I have heard people in the department say it is, and some say that its not. I would love to see these characters in the parades, and also in the parks. It just shows that the technology increases with the times.

Pluto's next on the list to get animated, he'll bark and howl and such. Next after that are Chip and Dale.

no idea about disneyland. that's just the schedule at wdw. I would've thought if disneyland were going to use them it'd have been for mickey/minnie/goofy in the christmas parade but it didn't happen. other than that the only other spot for them right now is closing mickey in fantasmic and that'd be kind of weird to just pop it in at the end.

Chip and Dale do have talking heads now. They used them this year in Celebrate the Seasons Stage show and Mickeys Twas the Night at the Galaxy Palace Theatre.

there ya go then. pluto's next :P Unless they found it pointless or too difficult to care but it shouldn't be too bad.

I've heard things about DL testing them in places like Playhouse Disney - live on stage. I know they're down for refurb & new show scenes right now, so maybe we'll see them sooner than you think. I agree with Almandot that, right now, there aren't too many places where they could be implemented at DL - we don't have a castle show like WDW's
