  • Special Birthday - Help with Ideas

Both of my parents are turning 50 within a month of each other, and it just so happens we are going to be taking a trip to Disneyland coming up and I had this brainwave to surprise them with some sort of special birthday something or other while we're at the park.

Problem is - I need some help and ideas of what we could do for them. We're from Utah so being at Disneyland is so special for my family. Our group is large this trip, about 16-18 people, consisting of grandmas to little kids. We don't have a lot of money to spend. I'd like it to be IN Disneyland, not outside at Downtown Disney or CA.

I want a good meaningful, fun surprise. Any ideas??

Eating in Disneyland, something special and inexpensive? Whoa, tough chore.

I'd get close seats for the Billy Hill & the Hillbilles at the golden horseshoe. Te food there isn''t bad and you'll have a great time. Other than that I'd recommend the Cafe Orleans.

Have fun and congrats to your parents!!

It doesn't have to be eating. Did I say eating? None of us have ever been to Billy Hill. That's a good idea. THANKS!!

ANother thing, make sure you tell a cast member on certain rides that you have a large party and they are both turning 50. They may mention it over the loud speakers. Like Tiki Room etc.

Another thing that I always like is great Character interaction. You can maybe all have a great family meal at a character dining restaurant. Just make sure to make reservations as soon as possible for a large group. Could make a lot of great memories!

I know you said you didn't want it to be in CA, but if you change your mind, Another great show they might appreciate is Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular at California Adventure, if you're planning on getting Park Hoppers. There isn't any food, but it's a really good show that can be enjoyed by all ages.

We usually never miss Aladdin when we go! It is fun and my parents do love it.

Not what you were asking about - but don't forget family reunion buttons!

And maybe ask about a trip on the Lilly Belle for them (not the whole group!) at Guest Services - mention its their birthday. It's free and if it's running it's quite likely they'll let you.
